Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Cooley, Logan
  2. Lamoureux, Maveric
  3. Weber, Shea
  4. 2024 1st round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
Assuming Arizona pick is 6th or later.

Leafs get Silayev so in this deal they get a top 6 C who is young and two high risk/high reward 6'6 D.
ARI
  1. Liljegren, Timothy [RFA Rights]
  2. Marner, Mitchell
  3. Robertson, Nicholas [RFA Rights]
  4. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Assuming Marner agrees to an extension.

Utah would get a massive marketable star to sell the game. They also get a RHD (they literally have 0 NHL D under contract for next season), a potential 30+ goal scorer (Robertson has 14 in 50 games this year averaging 10mins a night) and a late 1st to keep stocking up the prospects.

Trade makes loads of sense for both teams. It also puts Utah in a position where they can pool Schmaltz+Durzi+Toronto 1st for Zegras and suddenly they have upgraded from Schmaltz/Cooley upfront to Zegras/Marner. At the cost of their 1st. (assuming you consider Durzi for Lili+Robo a wash).

Massive coup for them from a market POV as well.

Leafs also sweeten for Utah owners by taking on Weber's deal.

He'd sign this for the same reason Hyman and Bunting did. His career high in points is 32. If he knows he'll get to play with Matthews or Nylander then he takes the discount for two years puts up 60+ points and gets a long-term deal at $5M+ instead of signing long-term at $3-4M this offseason.
