You're not going to get a pick that is basically a late 1st for a dude that has 35 points in the last two seasons and makes north of 5 million...

That’s one way to look at his stats.

If you look at his numbers it’s a lot better than how you are framing it.

He’s scored 35 points in 56 games, including 24 goals.
He also had 14 points in 20 games with the Blues, including 10 goals.
If he plays everyday, and puts up similar numbers, and the Blues are sellers, a 2nd would be the floor of a return.

His current cap hit is $2,625,000. I’m not sure where you came up with 5 million. If the Blues eat 50% in a trade that makes him even more valuable.

Red Wings underpaying, but not the right team to send him to.

Yzerman & Army have quite a close trading track record. Wallinder is a first round pick, and a LHD which fills a massive need for the Blues. I’m not sure Buch will return more than the equivalent of two 1sts.

Meh, price Buchnevich I still think it's a little, but I'm a Red Wings fan saying that Buchelnevich isn't the right guy.
UFA in 2 years. Locks us into having no 1st pick in 2024. We lose Wallinder. Just not worth it IMO.

Maybe you get that return at the TDL but he hasn't played more than 50 games in three seasons and has had shoulder surgery and he spent most of last season in the players assistance program. He only performed like that in small spurts.

Detroit won't be buying at the TDL and if they trade Boston 2024 1st that means Ottawa gets Detroit's 2024 1st round pick. Plus Detroit is very high on Wallinder I doubt they trade him.

Who Knows? I know! And what I know is those first 2 trades fs don’t happen as the blues say no

What I also know is rn Vrana isn’t worth a 2nd but it depends on how he plays at the deadline

Detroit trade isn't a fit for Detroit and it's too much for us to give up even if there was a fit there. Maybe another team but I kind of doubt you get that high of a return for Buch. Debrincat, Toffoli, Bertuzzi and Kane and got less as recent comparisons. Probably a first and a bit too the right team though, just not Detroit.

Buch is better than all of those players and DeBrincat basically forced his way to Detroit, so that’s not a fair comparison.

IF he plays. That's all fine and dandy, but he won't. Even without the off-ice issues, he's never been able to stay in a lineup consistently. There's no reason for anyone to be paying that kind of price for Vrana, you're stuck with him, enjoy

Either way they are close comparisons. At the end of the day Detroit wouldn't be paying that for Buchnevich.

for 2.6 mil cap hit I'm doing that deal. Canes need goal scorers, he is a goal scorer with a low cap hit and low term. So if it doesnt work out canes aren't hamstrung by it. That has canes written all over it.

No idea why you think Edmonton would want to pay the equivalent of 2 firsts to take on the Parayko contract. It's not as if he's playing exceptionally well either.

I mean he's pretty cheap at the moment and gave us a fantastic 20 game tryout last season. who knows maybe he plays like the top 4 winger we all know he can be
