If Danielson or Kasper make the team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JhonnyCanuck5</b></div><div>I was torn between Spring or Perron. I’m fine with either, maybe slightly prefer Perron. I just think Sprong might be cheaper.</div></div>
Sprong was benched at the end of the season. He doesn't like to play defense. His offensive abilities for time on ice are great. I think a team pays him a bit too much based on his point totals.
Perron is a great leader for this team. His contribution goes beyond his play and I think that will prove invaluable.

I don't think we see Sprong back. Rather have Perron instead even as he is declining.

Couple moves to make
Don't need Brannstrom but I'm sure Detroit takes that and facilitates a trade moving him elsewhere. I wouldn't mind Kastelic as a fourth liner.

We also liked Vlad when we had him in Detroit. Great guy, good player.

I don't think they do. Not for that price anyways. I don't mind Farabee but this isn't it.

Pretty easy no from Detroit and don't know why we would be adding a pick. We can't afford Tavares.

Couple Moves
If you want to know how to trade players rights without signing him. When to go into the trade, underneath where it says acquire players, there is a selection of trade away players rights. In there you will have a list of all RFA's and unsigned players.

Jake from StateFarm
I would personally rather keep 15OA. Dropping down that much just for a slight improvement really isn't worth it in my point of view. Walman isn't in the long term plans as it is already. His contract is really good for allowing the youth to develop and then he will be moved. I have no issues moving him now though is it was a deal to get us a good draft pick.

If Laine wants out
I could see Detroit doing something like that. If they want a bit more value, up the fifth to a fourth. Could be a third but rather try and keep that.

I really like the idea of neutral sites actually. It would help grow the game in areas that might not have a chance to see top hockey.

38 OA for 47 OA + Matta</div></div>
I think 47OA + 3rd to 4th depending on the team/ player/ selection number

UP AND DOWN
The Chicago trade I could see happening. I wouldn't do it personally and in this scenario it's not good as you have the cap space to cover the buyout once you take out the drafted players that wouldn't be in the team.
The Sharks trade is bad for us. Maatta isn't a negative asset, he should get a more round pick in return. Trading two seconds is alot more than that pick should be worth. Especially next year's second as that player could be better than the one selected at 33OA. It's supposed to be a deeper draft.
For your picks, I have no issue selecting Terik, I don't mind him at all. The other guy I would be cautious about. Very unproven player against any real competition. He's a man playing against boys with his size. I could see taking a flyer on him with a third but two seconds and Maatta is quite the reach.

Rossi Just Cause
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ac3L1ght</b></div><div>If this were any other year, Rossi would have been a Calder finalist.
Only a -4 on the season, playing substantial top line minutes with hard nosed vets like Hartman and Zuccarello, while also shining alongside Eriksson Ek and Kaprizov.
For going through as much adversity as he has, being a 40 point scorer is incredible for a guy who not even a year ago had to almost retire because of a heart condition. Dude has grit, something DET needs.
Unless you pay, Rossi don't come</div></div>
There is a reason why he is someone I targetted. I like him. But Seider isn't even in the same conversation. Probably no deal with Detroit as we wouldn't trade 15OA for him either.

Yeah I figured as much. I don't think we have anything they would really want unless it was Berggren and a second. I just like the idea of a couple Austrian guys being able to play in a line.

If he can't make an immediate impact on DET than what makes him worth a 1st in EDM?
He's a better prospect than EDM's prospects BUT... he's not tearing the doors off</div></div>
Detroit signing too many forwards in free agency and then adding Kane along with his waiver exemption. The year before our team was absolutely devastated with injuries. Stevie signed players so we had depth. Berggren suffered for that.

Getting bigger and harder to play against
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MT9</b></div><div>I’m saying regarding Krugs contract it will be easier to move with 3 years left instead of 4 like the guy originally said. After next season it then moves to a Modified clause. Armstrong already had a deal with Philly last offseason with Philly for Sanheim. Not like he will be unmovable forever imo.
I was not meaning Krug is easier to trade than Chiarot or anything like that</div></div>
I understand.
But yeah, been down this Krug hole alot. Doesn't make sense for us with where we are, unless like I said significant compensation which the Blues aren't or at least shouldn't be willing to do.
I think the Blues are going to have a couple transition years. Ride out the few years left of Krug, Leddy, Saad (not saying he's bad). Stockpile some decent picks and prospects. Trade Buch for a decent haul. Then inject the youth and this team should be good again in a few years.
I think the next few years are going to be similar to this year. Fringe playoff team but not bad enough to get a top pick.
