Habs say get lost.

Joshua costs 3 maybe 4 mil AAV.

Flames laugh and hang up.

Sharks decline.

Leafs decline.

Coyotes decline.

Kane is 50/50 re-signing with Detroit.

If you want Toronto to retain half of JT you gotta pay up BIG, Leafs don’t even consider your offer

Kinda like Chicago got a huge price for Kane. Or Ottawa for Tank.

If moving Holl and getting back a 7th was possible Yzerman would have already dont it

I'd imagine he revisits the market in the next month and if nobody wants him at half retention, he gets bought out.

Agree completely. Love to know the thought process that got Yzerman to Holl is the answer at 3x3.4M

Pretty sure it's the same thought process he had with other signings... Sign plugs to short deals while the kids develop. Don't let your core fall into a loser mentality.

Working out pretty well considering pretty much everybody put us behind Buffalo and Ottawa's rebuilds.

Kane and Tarasenko both dealt at deadline

Kane and Tarasenko both dealt to teams they hand picked to go to

Kane and Tarasenko averages less points in the season they were traded than Tavares just had

Tavares plays a more important position at center

Toronto also isn’t rebuilding and flexible with cap retention, therefore you pay up for that as well

But they must show Toronto games in Detroit? Holl was not NHL quality either of the last 2 season so sign him for 3 yrs?

TDL prices higher than offseason prices lol. And nobody's trading for him until that signing bonus is paid.

Guess that full NMC ain't clicking in your head though.

I literally called him a plug lol.

I'd rather have Holl at 3 years than Graves at 6 or Mayfield at 7.

Don’t confuse Kane and Tarasenko telling management what team they want to go to vs. Tavares being told what teams are interested in him

He can if if wants, he has the leverage to do so. In both the Kane and Tarasenko trade the teams trading for those 2 players had the leverage

Yes... Because the player had full control over where they wanted to go... Just like Tavares lol.

You’re completely missing the difference (or maybe you’re just trolling, which at this point I’m pretty sure you are)… the team trading for Tavares doesn’t have the leverage because the Leafs can decline (like they would in this post)… Chicago and Ottawa were doing the players a favour and weren’t turning down their trade offers
