I think Lindholm will probably end up leaving. Hronek potentially gets moved depending on his contract ask

Joshua is likely the priority UFA re-signing we make, followed by Zadorov and/or Myers

Getting a top 6 winger to play with Pettersson needs to be a priority whether it’s in a trade or through free agency

Sabres arent bailing you out of bad contracts, they dont have free cap space and you aren't paying enough

Hronek isn't signing that and Buffalo isn't taking dead salary and paying you to do it.

See the thing though for me, they gave up so much for Lindholm, that's the only reason I went with him over Joshua. But you're 100% right.

Lol I just did an ACGM for them and you're totally right. They could maybe take on Dadonov like I did in a different one since it's only one year, albeit it probably needs even more of a sweetener, but yeah i messed up. They won't take Mikheyev. But for the purpose of this ACGM, I think Vancouver desperately needs to get rid of his contract, with minimal retention too.

As a Canucks fan, what I'm expecting is something along the lines of:

1. Signing a top 6 winger for Petey. I think they'll go out and sign someone, maybe like a Guentzel (PIT connection) or Reinhart (hometown kid). Lindholm isn't out of the question, but my gut tells me he'll end up being a rental as the Canucks pivot to a different top 6 FA winger. Leaves us with a top 6 of Hoggy - Petey - FA and Suter - Miller - Boeser

2. Finish the bottom 6. I think Blueger will be re-signed and Garland obviously stays, but I think Joshua may end up leaving. Canucks will probably try to keep him, but I can see him leaving for another team to cash in on his first FA experience, probably to somewhere with cap space that can overpay and give him potential top 6 minutes (maybe an Anaheim or Chicago). If Joshua does leave, I think the Canucks will look to fill that hole either by asking Podz to step up or by bringing in another Joshua-type who they think they can get more out of (maybe Duhaime who they were interested in at TDL). Mikheyev could also be an option to fill the hole if they don't move him. 4th line will be a mix match of young guys like Aman/Karlsson and vets like PDG or free agents.

3. Lock up the defence. By the sounds of things Hronek has a pretty absurd ask, but I think with time and his so far poor playoff performance that it will come down to a more reasonable price. My guess is he'll get something around 7 x $7.25M. After Hronek, Zadorov is the next big piece. He's fit Tocchet's system amazing and is an absolute fan favourite, and I think with Vancouver's connections to Milstein and their growing pool of Russian players he'll be locked up for 4-5 years around the $4-$5M range.

4. Finishing the defence. With a Hughes/Zadorov/Soucy left side, there's no need for Cole anymore so I think he walks. I think they'll bring back Myers on a cheap 1-2 year deal, as he seems to be a well respected player in the locker room and a pretty big leader for the team. I also think they'll bring back Tanev, Hughes said to target him deadline and they did, management seems interested and it sounds like Tanev would also be interested in coming back (and I also heard a rumour he may even be willing to take a "hometown discount" with Van).

5. Goaltending. Pretty straight forward, Demko is locked up and DeSmith walks with Silovs cementing himself as the backup with this playoff run. Maybe bring in a 3rd depth guy to play AHL mintues and be there in case of injury.

Lindholm probably has #1 center options in Boston or Nashville.

That premium forward would require Mikyhaev traded and he’s a negative value at his salary or getting rid of Hronek (who I believe important for your defensive structure). I see Ilya’s salary difference as the difference between someone like Guentzel vs someone like Toffoli or DeBrusk. I could also see Joshua getting more than anticipated on the open market.

Yeah I think Lindholm ends up in Boston. Feels like it makes too much sense to not happen

I’d be okay with Debrusk or Toffoli or Teravainen to play with Pettersson if we can’t move Mikheyev. Obviously Guentzel would be great but I’m not expecting him

Agree with you that Joshua could get more than expected. Hoping he’d take around 3M to stay with the Canucks
