Nashville is not getting near enough if we're retaining half of 11 million and losing Saros. Nashville would be the team wanting Clarke in this scenario.

Not to mention I don't think Nashville would want Fiala back. He didn't leave on the best terms and I don't know how certain vets in the locker room would view him coming back

Toronto isn't getting Clarke because LA isn't moving him. Stop trying to make it happen.

This trade does not make sense from any angle

Leaf's are not getting enough value back for MM or filling any need IF they trade with NAS its for Saros not just a prospect no matter how good he MIGHT be,

The Kings aren't trading Clarke, Fiala or Moore to get one season of Marner and one season of Saros. Leave the short-sighted thinking to someone else.

Should have mentioned the trade happens after July 1st so it's only 380k in real money for NSH on Marner.

I'm assuming both players agree to extensions.

Clarke is going to be in the NHL next year and could be the best option for the Leafs if they are looking for a new PP QB. Next best option is likely Ghost in free agency. Montour likely doesn't work with Matthews/Nylander, their styles clash offensively.

but he's not going to be a #1 int he next couple of years. The Leaf's need someone that can step into the lineup and be an impact right away. Saros makes 100% more sense for them than Clarke.

From what I've seen watching him in Ontario. He's a 6/7D in the NHL 5v5 but he can already be a top 10 PP QB. He has crazy vision, great hands and a wicked shot. He can beat goalies clean from the blueline. If the Leafs use him as a 3RD and PP QB, he can play 15 mins a night with 6/7mins a night on the PP and put up 50 points next season.
