I don't think that this is a very good idea for Chicago. Let's assume that the Black Hawks are currently trying to choose between Levshunov or Silayev, Lindstrom or Silayev, or Levshunov or Lindstrom at #2. This trade virtually guarantees that they won't get either of the pair they are considering, and might not get the third youngster, either.

Hawks aren't trading down. Whoever they take at 2OA (Demidov or Levshunov) will be a much better prospect than whoever they get at 5OA. In this draft class, that Winnipwg 1st probably gets a player with 2nd round ability. And that '25 Calgary 1st likely turns into the Florida 1st - another late pick. Not nearly enough value for Hawks to consider this.

Hawks are in no position to trade down from 2. They need high end talent that you only get at the very top of the draft

The difference in talent at 2 and 5 isn't worth all that considering the BPA at 2 is actually a defenseman , so montreal have no reason to trade up, worst case scenario we draft another defenseman at 5 and trade for kent Johnson from Columbus

If they really really really want Demidov or Lindstrom, secure the bag.. but i would keep the CGY pick.. just to see if its a top 10. Calgary going down the drain next year

Hawks need to be using picks to trade up if they see a player they like. Not acquiring more picks. We have enough and are gonna run out of contract space.
