You might of you get a chance to draft a top pairing one with the other draft pick you're getting.

Carolina says no, unless they're high on Roy which may be they are but I'd find it surprising

Columbus doesn't even consider that deal. Petey is a great player but Fantilli looks to be a star and Columbus isn't trading two of their future core for Petey

CAR-MTL
Never happening. Habs have to take the chance Hutson hits his ceiling if they're ever going to come into actual contention, selling him off for a player he likely out produces would be a giant mistake

Yes to Necas, No to Buchnevich
One is younger and will have to signs longer term contract, the other is a rental that they likely sell for less than what's above at the TDL

If Carolina resigns Skjei then they don't trade for Matheson. If the resign Pesce and let Skjei go then I can see it

2024 Offseason
This is the kind of move I want Hughes making, take on a bad contract, get more assets and clears the logjam on defence. I'd be happy with this

The pick is going the wrong way in the MTL trade and it would have to be at least a 4th for MTL to even consider it

Building Off of HABITANTLECOLONs Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WhoCares_ItsAFantasyGame</b></div><div>Well, let's be fair here. Caulfield is one hell of a player for us, but I do see his point about is lack of pushing and playing the corners at this stage of his career vs Boldy. He's not as big and will gather that experience down the line, but right now, Caulfield is not that much off of being unidimensional player at this point in time.
I have confidence he'll gather that experience from St-Louis' coaching but .. While I wouldn't do a trade for Boldy and add a pick on top of that, Boldy does things a bit better defensively because of his size.
BOLDY NHL REGULAR GAMES ONLY STATS
SEASON GP G A P +/- PIM
2021-22 47 15 24 39 17 10 |
2022-23 81 31 32 63 1 39 |
2023-24 75 29 40 69 5 48
CAUFEILD NHL REGULAR GAMES ONLY STATS
SEASON GP G A P +/- PIM
2020-21 10 4 1 5 -1 2 |
2021-22 67 23 20 43 -24 10 |
2022-23 46 26 10 36 -10 2 |
2023-24 82 28 37 65 -4 16 |
While points are relatively in the same ball parks, Boldy is a contant + player and Caufield is in the - ..
You can blame that on teams being different, but Caufield's number show he needs to get better defensively at some point.</div></div>
You've seen that improvement already if you watched Caufield this year. From the start of the year to the end it was noticable in the defensive end. He wasn't cheating anymore, he was using his body better, breaking out better and was better in coverage. Those numbers won't show until he does it over the course of a full year but the eye test was there throughout the year. He will never be a great defensive player but I expect to see a more consistent effort in the defensive zone next year

Boeser
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>I agree this is likely around what Boeser’s value would be, my point was that it just doesn’t make sense for the Canucks to move Boeser for fair value right now. But yeah things can change a lot in a year with Boeser being a prime example of that</div></div>
What are you hoping his next contract comes in at?

Dach doesn't have this kind of value. I'm a big believer in the player and think if he stays healthy he can be better than. Necas but that hasn't happened and Carolina isn't taking that chance

I know it's different situations but this site isn't real life and frankly this time last year Vancouver fans would have been tripping over themselves to say yes to this deal. Times change but I don't see Boesers value at much more then this, hypothetically speaking that is

6 spots of difference is like the 20th overall pick in value difference, I'd say that difference would hold true between the two players. I know Vancouver isn't shopping Boeser but I'd say that 13th overall is pretty close to his actual value, even on a hypothetical site that's just for fun
