Minor Changes
No thanks from Utah, need a shiny 1c over anything, along with a 1d, all ready got Keller and maccelli to play a marner type role. Not paying a premium for someone they have a redundancy in.

That whitecloud trade would be interesting for Winnipeg, but ya any Theodore add leads to selling mid on samberg and or selling low on heinola and or Stanley. Only so many spots on left side.

Utah could possibly use all three chytil Trouba and goodrow, but not about to pay for them, maybe a token late pick to help that much on cap and term. Would be interesting to see if they would waive

Trust the Utah Process
Utah needs an upgrade of Hayton and dman longterm and veteran to show the kids the way, and possibly another project in net and trade vejimelkas value. Rangers aren’t moving Schneider for anything, just bridge till they can pay him or trade him when his team control winds down. Definitely not now.

Enough Drafting
Going to need savoie or kulich for Utah to be tempted, and probably still decline with so much youth and picks, going to be tough to get the veteran part of the Utah nucleus.

If keep marner
Not sure why Utah is trading there starter after he found his game and probably about to outplay his contract, 2x to 3x for next couple seasons, 1 of the better bargains in the league. Possibly a trade high moment, but that return doesn’t overly tell you that. Utah probably in a place to change out vejimelka for another project replacement, if the value is right.

Utah gets a say lol, there weakness is there blueline, then top end centers, then either net or on the wing. Going out of there way to improve there strength and weaken there weakness not a great idea if you want to keep your gig

Leafs realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>A <strong>lot</strong> more realistic than the contemporaneous ACGM published by a Toronto fan peddling Calle Jarnkrok to us for the 2024 Boston second.
Like everyone else, I just don't see Utah sending their first ever draft pick to Toronto for one season of Mitch Marner, and I'd be surprised if anyone's interested in buying him before Toronto pays his $7.25 million bonus on July 1. I know that the franchise just got purchased by a billionaire, but my understanding of wealth is that billionaires don't get that way by throwing away money, especially when the franchise itself is on such rocky financial footing.</div></div>
Could possibly see them dealing 6 oa if there’s a ideal center with an abundance of team control, or a reasonable contract on him, or even the gamble of a package to go get Draisaitl plus extension. Probably highly unlikely and they will be picking there, so want a Doan/geekie/iginla 3rd line in 2 years. But probably drafting another dman or center depending how the draft falls.

Geekie and lamoureux really non starters, and McBain is an identity guy, who they want to be as a team, lots of size and physical with some smaller skill mixed in. But definitely a look at size and physical players as a bulk of there lineup.

Just about better running out the clock on him, 2 years and 8.7 off the books, better than token cap dumps and a late first. Columbus has been able to do all right in the free agency game, so cap means something. I possibly offer him up to Utah, something similar to how Vegas ended up with smith and marchessault, as long as it means minimal cap back? Just think the token first doesnt make up for the lost value in turning a 3 oa pick into a 2oa pick plus, to random cap dumps and token first.

Your career looking short lived, can’t sell that low on laine, better off just trying to shine him up til deadline, and retain to get a better package.

little more conservative
Utah more likely to be trying this trick in reverse and adding players by trading picks, over adding anymore picks. Rangers center group a little old to be In demand for what the Utah team is In need of. Miller/schneider would be of interest though. Maybe chytil.

Why would Utah trade from a weakness for a strength? They need more dmen not less, and a shiny 1 or 2c over any upgrade on the wing.

Not sure Utah would even make the phone call, all this time of forced conservative building, and bargain term to there loyal nucleus to blow it all up on sending assets for marner, and then blowing the budget on the extension. I would possibly do it for a top 5 center 29 and under. Ideally they add a sidekick for Cooley, 1a/1b scenario, or go back up into the draft, couple in the top 10 would be fun. Pulling for a Doan/geekie/iginla line.

Competitive team next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canuckfan98</b></div><div>The reason I didn't add too many rookies or kids is cause its obvious due to the relocation that Utah wants to make the playoffs next season so going for the big ticket guys on ufa will help them, Doan will get his opportunity when an injury occurs or if he plays great at training camp, as for Guenther if he is top 6 calibre then he will have to beat out Schmaltz and Jonathan to prove his worth.
I don't mind to add of the dmen you listed but I don't see them being interested in Utah as they will probably take offers from other teams.</div></div>
Probably have to go trade route to upgrade a winger over just buying marchessault, term and roster spots a factor with all the picks accumulated. Schmaultz possibly traded to upgrade blueline even, marchessault is a nice veteran add to lead this group up front. Still like Guenther in top 6, but we will see come training camp.

Competitive team next year
Can’t afford to buy that many free agents with the amount of draft picks they have, they need roster spots all ready. Couple dman and a center, and then let the kids on the wings come naturally. Guenther ready for top 6, Doan ready for 60 games at least. Bjugstad might as well be slotted higher or traded. Would be nice to find an upgraded Hayton in that age group to have with Cooley 1a and 1b. Don’t mind the lindholm add, blueline could go a few different way, probably buy a pair anyway, maybe montour/dillon, or Skjei/tanev. And then let the kids come

Kind of defeats the purpose with the Macelli add over changing out schmaltz, personally i go lindholm over Stephenson, just on injury history, even if it’s a little more term and cap. Nitpicking at this point. I like the build, I wonder if they try to move up in draft or package picks together to get a second pick up higher with all those picks. Possibly a project in net added, and get some value out of Vejmelka if there is some. There’s a kid ready for that Barron spot, but not a bad depth move to add. I go up and get iginla, doan/iginla line could be fun. Well done on build.

Not sure ufas will be flocking quite yet, another lottery pick, beyond this one would be a preference. Probably need more term on Stephenson to bring him to town.
