Sharks shouldn't do this. Ristolainen has 3 years left and is not even replacement level.

planning for leos contract
I think the Sharks would like a first for Granlund alone; or definitely a first for him and a third.
Bourgalt and Lavoie aren't terrible, but are the kind of prospects every team has half-a-dozen of.

This is incredibly cheap for both players. I doubt Theodore waives his NMC. If Vegas has to trade them, they will be able to do so outside of the conference.

KK and Necas
I don't think the Hurricanes are going to pay much to dump KK. His buyout is fairly reasonable. At least that is what the fans are clinging to.

It feels like the Leafs fanbase is just done with Reilly. Obviously, he has a bad contract. This trade gives TML cap flexibility and a great contract in Benning's.<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cmarch</b></div><div>Isles say no. They have no need for RHD. They save money in both years.

That's not Bordeleau. who's a B-/C-level prospect that every NHL team has a half-dozen of.

No way Carolina does that unless Necas has a terrible season. They'd want a first-rounder coming back.

Not the time to acquire a goaltender. Rutta has negative value (maybe slight positive at the TDL).

Are Burroughs and Rutta not RHD?</div></div>
Burroughs is not an NHL-caliber player. I suppose he's a serviceable 8/9 type (and contending teams need those players). Rutta is a #6 guy at best.

Marner To San Jose
Not to pile on, but Marner wouldn't even be able to sign an 8-year-deal until the TDL 2025. So if the Sharks acquired him it would have to be as a pure rental.
I feel like Rielly-for-Ferarro swap could work out well for both teams.

Using comps
I see the comparisons to Dach, but Dach was the #3 pick, traded in his d+3 year, and had more NHL games under his belt. Holtz just finished his d+4 season, and has only one NHL season under his belt.

Campbell's contract is horrible. It will cost at least a first-round pick to get out of, not to mention the Sharks giving up Blackwood as well.

Weaponize the cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>Why is Tampa paying a 2nd to dump sheary but orlov and kk are much cheaper to dump?</div></div>
KK has upside (it is a risk from SJ). Orlov is overpaid but still a decent player who should have value at the deadline. Carolina is also taking some bad contracts back. Sheary is deadweight and his contract is a year longer.

Addison probably has no worth at this point. No way Bordeleau goes for a 2nd. Ruuta might have some value only at the deadline.
