I’m sure they have a valuation of Ullmark internally, and a valuation of swayman.

If the gap in contract costs and trade values for each is enough, I think they may move swayman. Now will that gap be reached, unlikely.

But if, for example
Ullmark will take a 4mill x5 year deal in Boston
Swayman won’t take a penny less than 8.5x8
The offers for Ullmark are like a 2nd+3rd
The offers for Swayman are 10th overall+

I think there comes a point where Boston opts to keep Ullmark instead.

Again, highly unlikely that gap gets reached. Ullmark should fetch enough in a trade and Swayman should be reasonable enough in contract negotiations to make it a moot point</div></div>

THIS ^ ^ ^ If Wayne Gretzky can be traded, anybody can be traded. Nobody is ever untouchable. The price might be a lot but its still there and if Boston already has a viable option for goaltending for 5-7 years on a steal then they'd have more money to spend up front which does have its benefits. Then they realistically can draft a high end goalie in any of the next 3 drafts (in addition to a potential top line player at 10oa) and they should be developed enough or close to being able to take over by then. Now whether it happens or not, I think its possible but very unlikely. The 1 and only way I see it potentially happening is if their negotiations go just as rough as last time and him and Boston management have a serious falling-out.
