Brodie has been the Leafs' safety blanket on defence for years, but with Brodie's deal expiring and Treliving possibly looking at making changes to the defence, he will likely want to make a significant change by adding/subttacting to the Leafs top 4.

Chances are that he makes thr subtraction before making an addition, which is why I think Brodie could be dumped for a couple of picks.

Not sure what Trotz has planned for NSH but I could see him open to bringing in Brodie for a couple of mid picks. Worst case scenario, he probably recuperates those pickd more or less at the TDL if the Preds are sellers again.

+Dube/Mangiapane/Toffoli

Depending on how the Nylander contract negotiations go, I could see him getting dealt for a defender during the season or prior. The trade would likely be more or less a 1-for-1 with other pieces involved so that neither side ends up with nothing/to lower the risk if the defender has term.

Possible targets (from likely to unpredictable/onlyonCF): Hanifin, D Toews, Pesce, Parayko, Dunn, H Lindholm, Pelech

In the case that the Nylander-Hanifin trade is exactly a 1-for-1 or Hanifin+futures, then the Leafs would look for a top 6 replacement. Boeser was a guy who was rumored to possible be a fit in CGY when they were looking for top 6 additions around the deadline.

Return would depend on Boeser's performance during the season if he's not traded in the off-season that is.
