Deal for Couturier
There is very little chance the Jets trade McGroarty. If they trade him to Montreal it would be part of a Suzuki, or Caulfield type deal. Sounds ridiculous? Maybe, but that isn't as ridiculous as the above proposal.

Just visiting
Bear is an ok option I'd be ok with personally, but it depends on the defense situation in Winnipeg and if they end up letting Dillon walk and find a suitor for Schmidt. If Dillon goes, and Demelo re-signs, Heinola takes the spot in the lineup.

Jets lines when healthy
What they should do, but likely won't, is put Perfetti on the third line with Lows and Nino to allow his hockey sense and skill benefit from their physicality and open things up for him, and roll a 4th line of Vlad, Iafallo, and Appleton/Barron

Best destinations and trades for Ullmark in my opnion
It's going to come down to who he waives for and who can provide Boston with a 1st, and a good centre prospect. The Bruins have their backup in the A and don't need one back in return, and obviously have thin prospect pool they should replenish

What would Ras cost
I would think most Jets fans would love Rasmus, but the cost would be too great. A top pairing RSD with a great contract, who is beloved by his team would cost way, way too much.

Still possible to trade one of the goalies
Markstrom would be a perfect placeholder until Levi is ready for the job, but I doubt he'd waive for them.

TDL 2024
The only trade I don't like is the Washington one. Edmundson is meh, and wasted space with Schmidt still being there that just adds to the logjam.
Trade Stanley for a 3rd rounder or something

Good point, but sadly Winnipeg is often picked as the worst road game destination and is often noted as a city where players chose not to waive for. If there is mutual interest, it's hard to imagine he'd pick Winnipeg over spots like Boston and Colorado. If neither team wants him, sure, but if they do, we'd lose out.

Yeah, we all know that, but he won't be picked up, and he won't be in Hershey for a year and a half, so it must be to get him in game shape and work on a deal.

Winnipeg needs a RSD.
If Washington trades Kuzy, retention is needed, but would he waive for Winnipeg, and would this be another Setoguchi case? What's up with Kuznetsov? Is he worth the hassle?

Blow it up
I don't think Ottawa will blow it up. They'll be just like Calgary. Take the L for this year, trade the UFAs and go for it again next year.
If they do blow it up, I doubt Claude would want to stay, even though he's from Ottawa.

Free Ville
I like Ville. He deserves a shot, but I think it's likely he stays with the Moose until next year, and Chevy gets a top 4RSD, only because of Ville's contract status.

They already traded two very good young defensemen in Durzi and Faber. One for cap reasons; one for Fiala. It's hard to imagine they trade Roy

That "financial trouble," isn't going to be solved by trading valuable assets to get rid of "dead money." The team is going after more corporate sponsorship and is working on getting lost season ticket holders back in the seats. Bettman himself, also dispelled the rumors of the team being in trouble.

With all due respect, there is no way in the hottest depths of hell Winnipeg makes that trade. Kovacevic and Matheson are not assets that Winnipeg would consider trading that second, Lambert, and Schmidt for when they can easily buy Schmidt out

RSD is a need, but not at the cost of Nik, and Boston also wants a C, not a winger

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Probably a 4th at most.</div></div>
This is probably accurate. The good thing is that his contract isn't long term, so there would be more teams interested than they would be if he like 4 years left.

Jets - All In for the Cup
Konecny is nice, but the Philly trade is an overpay. Walker is a UFA at season's end, and the return completely depletes the prospect pool. Philly is also surprisingly in contention, so other than dealing the pending UFA's, I don't think Philly would trade anything else. Konecny will be staying.
