Sure the rebuild is over, but does Dorian want to go three years without first round picks?

This Works Out With Both Teams and Their Cap
The Rangers signed Trocheck so they're very likely not going to trade for Dubois.
If they were to however to do a deal like this and ask the Jets to retain they have to pay for it by adding a pick, or a prospect like Othmann or Cuylle.

I really hope bringing in a transitional coach like Bowness (see what he did with Seguin and been) can start that transition to the youth. But again like you said, they still have a major log jam on D and have done nothing to fix it.</div></div>
Just like I didn't blame Jack Roslovic either. Heinola has looked very good in the limited time with Winnipeg, but he keeps on getting sent down. Maybe Bowness will play him, but the team needs to clear up that logjam first; which they should have done weeks ago.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BatVader</b></div><div>WAAAAAAYYYYYY to much for Toews.
I’d do;
CHI retains 5,250,000 and gets Gus + a 4th/3rd
ARI retains 2,625,000 and gets Stanley
WPG gets Toews at 2,625,000</div></div>

That is a massive overpay for Toews. It's not 2015. He is an overpaid third liner at this point.
Winnipeg is a match, if a third team gets involved to pay a portion of his contract, and if the return is something like Gus and a third.

Kadri
Karlsson is not going to waive for Arizona, and there is no way Kadri signs in Vegas with their history of tossing aside vets because they can't manage the cap.
Kadri is either staying in Colorado, or going to Long Island anyways.

I third the sentiment that the team needs to start playing the youth, but that goes completely against the team philosophy of the last five years. This is a franchise who ruined Niku by having plugs like Bitetto, and Beaulieu playing instead of him. The Jets are a graveyard for young prospects.
At least Stanley and Dillon should of been traded by now, but we're a month away from camp and they're still around, so I'm more expecting Heinola demands a trade and is sent out.

Blow it up
This Jets fan likes all of these trades, in a scenario where Chevy decides to blow it up, but I don't see Seattle as a fit for PLD. They are in a building phase and have Beniers and Wright as the 1C and 2C they are going to develop in those roles. If anything they would go after some young wingers to play with those two.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canesfan21_</b></div><div>That seems like a lot for a year of Hellebuyck and light for PLD</div></div>
Would it be a year of Helle though?
Of course I can't speak for him, but you have a great young team on the rise, in L.A who is really only a Vezina caliber goalie away from being a consistent contender. I would imagine in this scenario he would re-sign in L.A. The only question is what they would do with Quick and Peterson. One of them would have to go; presumably Peterson, but he has struggled to live up to his contract.

My asking prices from Ottawa and Montreal on Weegar and Huberdeau
This all depends on a number of factors,
If Calgary is out of the playoff race, and Weegar is analytically one of the best at his position he could yield a top prospect, a roster player and a 1st, even as a rental. In this scenario, if say Artem Zub knock on wood gets injured and Ottawa is near a playoff spot, the could be adding a 1st, along with Grieg and another player in a trade. Same with Huberdeau. If he's on a 100 point pace again and there's a contending team who needs a bit more scoring, they could sacrifice a top prospect, a roster player and a first rounder even if it's for 20 games.
Montreal got a first round pick for Ben Chairot for God's sakes. Overpayment and sacrifices of valuable prospects happen all the time at the deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets33</b></div><div>I would prefer to trade away Dillon but I’m guessing he’s staying because Chevy said he’s expecting him back for next season. Wheels might get moved at the deadline if we’re out of the playoff race but I’m guessing he’s gonna be here to start next season. We should definitely move on from Wheels as soon as possible though.</div></div>
He did say that, but I they also aren't the type of organization that tells a guy through the media he's being traded. It's possible he was just being diplomatic. Heinola and Samberg need to be in the defensive group.

And Apples will be getting north of a mill.
The Jets lost him in the Seattle expansion draft, then traded a 4th to get him back. You don't do that and then let him go again, especially when the offer sheet is small like this one.

Kane and Toews to Winnipeg
Toews hasn't been a legit top line center in three seasons, and the only way the Jets should trade for him is if a third team gets involved to pay some salary.
Secondly, Scheifele, and Wheeler aren't waiving to go to Chicago.

Realistic Tkachuk deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jchockey12</b></div><div>Realistic? Really? I swear I have to say these things every time.
Tarasenko is not going to CGY. He has a no trade clause and he will go to NYC teams or LA for his wife's modeling career.
Kyrou is reportedly untouchable (along with Parayko and Thomas) but take that with a grain of salt.
Also, I really don't think Tkachuk signs for 9.5M. He turned down an 8 year $88M contract from CGY.
Overall this is just way too much for Tkachuk.
Most you'll get is Kyrou and a first.</div></div>
Tkachuk is three pieces at least. A Kyrou, Bolduc, and a 1st probably gets in done. They need someone to replace Tkachuk in the top six in any deal, and Kyrou fits the bill. If you want a good player, you need to sacrifice a good player.
In this situation Calgary can eat some of his salary to get a pick and a prospect from a third team like L.A or New York
