If tanking is your objective then I agree.
Still 3-4 years from competing, yes it's the objective.
I don't think he'd mind relocating to the team second closest to his hometown.</div></div>

Pass on Forsberg. Would rather see what Makiniemi can do in the NHL this year first.

I personally would let him go for a 2nd and 3rd if Knyzhov is actually back to form and when Mukhamadullin is ready. But I am not as high on Mario as most Sharks fans.

Half retention on the best offensive defenseman in the world and you think this piece of crap deal gets it done? Lay off the crack pipe. Oilers and Leafs fans are easily the most delusional group of children I have ever seen in hockey…just wow.

Payroll reconstruction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>They aren't acquiring older players, in fact they're getting younger here. Seguin is younger than Vlasic. Marchment is younger than Simek. Lundkvist is younger than Zetterlund.
Also I disagree. Seguin is so much better than anyone you're losing here that if anything their chances of making the playoffs in 2-3 years only get higher. Only thing that would change is that Seguin's contract runs one year longer, but that shouldn't be a problem since SJ doesn't have many big contracts that need to be renewed in a short while.
I said in the description that for this post NTCs and NMCs shouldn't be taken account for, because Seguin is unlikely to waive his NMC for Sharks either. As for Vlasic, he has M-NTC with 3 team trade list...I wonder if he agreed to a trade if he was promised that he'll get bought out by the team that acquired him, and then would simply re-sign with the Sharks again with a cheaper contract. Could be a win-win for Vlasic, and the Sharks.</div></div>
No organization is acquiring a contract on an underachieving player that has over 18 mil in signing bonuses especially not a small market like SJ. Be realistic here. Its a TERRIBLE trade for SJ and Dallas clearly gets away with utter larceny here. Sharks reject and block Nills number.

Sharks laugh. Vlasic has a year less than Seguin and isn't owed over 18 million in signing bonuses over the next 4 years. This deal weighs heavily in Dallas' favour. Easy decline

Absurdly low offer for Karlsson with half retention. Not even the same planet. A half retention 3x Norris winner the conversation starts with 3 firsts and Bouchard and thats really not enough.

Probably worth it to get Moore and Willander. Something still tells me this team will regret not drafting Michkov.

Murray did defeat SJ in our only cup final appearance. If he regains that level of play we can flip him back to Toronto for Knies and a pick! (Kidding)

Who knows, I feel like this was the year to reset and it didn't work out. I think due to injuries he's at the end of the line sadly.</div></div>
A lot of shots is one thing but a lot of shots from in the slot is another and Reimer and Kahkonen really stuggled with the Sharks D inability to keep plays to the outside. Certainly the Sharks D should improve this year if they find a way to get rid of MacDonald and Simek. Perhaps Toronto can take MacDonald as a 7th D or 13th forward to assist SJ getting out of that logjam since we are sending a 4th here that seems more than fair.

What about trading with Detroit for #9 and #17?</div></div>
If Detroit really wanted someone at 4 then yeah. If Carlsson is there at 4 then sharks dont move at all.
Willander is ranked all over the place as high as 8 and low as 51 but mostly in the 20s via all the major scouting platforms.
