Sabres TDL for playoff push
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Czu8iks</b></div><div>This season - not at all. But he has to be convinced to waive NTC, so there should be extension in place and this part is something I am not sure, Sabres would be willing to give right away.</div></div>
The extension would still be too much, for what we should be paying for someone to play w/ Power. We need someone in the $4 mill range, not 8 or 9.

Plus Dumba is too much for us to spend on a 2 pair RHD, IMO.

Seven of the top 52 are Sabres as well as 3 of the top 10.
I truly hope he is under rating Johnson (not ranked), Savoie and Levi (151st).
Savoie make no sense to rank him at 81st
Skating: <strong>Above</strong> NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: <strong>Above</strong> NHL average
Compete: <strong>Above</strong> NHL average
Shot: <strong>Above</strong> NHL average
BTW glarson17 if that was all it took to get Meier, he would wearing Blue and Gold now, and I do not think it is time to move assets, but that would be too good to pass up.</div></div>
I agree, if Buff were to get and extend Timo, I would do that trade, or be fine with it. Also, we keep Kulich and Savoie.

If that return is on the table for mittelstadt, I mean, of course take it.</div></div>
I agree on keeping Goalfsson, he'd be cheaper to keep than adding Timo. Plus we have Kulich coming. I'm for shoring up the Defense, and maybe a better backup goalie for next year, if Comrie isn't the answer.

BTW, what's wrong w/ Jost at 3 C? Just leave it like it is w/ Jost 3 C and Krebs 4 C. Kozak or whatever his name is may be groomed for 4 C or we could go N.Bonino in FA for 4 C, short term.

I don't think Kulich is going to play C. He plays wing in ROC and he did at the WJC.

I love Timo, but 2 1rst Savoie was a 1rst and 2 2nds and Mitts, that's a lot. I'd rather just stand pat. Savoie may end up eventually being our 3 C.

No need to spend $2 mill on another 4th L LW. You have Asplund, and you can sign a guy like M.Nieto for 900K-$1 mill.

I agree on Sturm, I don't think SJ moves him, plus Maroon can play wing. In this deal, if you want a C, maybe try for Bonino instead.

I think Kulich and a 1rst is enough, Kulich is going to be good. My comp. for Kulich is maybe a little better V.Olofsson, and in our timeline, he may eventually take Olafs spot, when his contract is up. As much as I love Timo, I'd probably keep Kulich and the picks.

I agree, and I don't know that we want to pay a RHD 2 pair the money he's going to want? We need someone in the $3-4 mill range, w/ our main money going to Dahlin and Power.

Please let's not give up on Girgensons, thank goodness that Krebs and Olofsson tickled the twines twice each yesterday.
Getting <strong>FOUR</strong> goals from the bottom six is a luxury that championship teams will display.
Making the playoffs is still a possibility but not worth spending draft of prospect capital this year to bring about.</div></div>
And lets not get rid of Olof, he's been Awesome this year.

That 4th Line LW is a problem. Jost has the 3rd L C, w/ his chemistry w/ Mitts and Olof. To me Krebs could play it, but he would be the 4th or 5th C, not a LW, and definately not on the 4th Line. We need a defensively responsible LW on the 4th like Girgs, or a M.Nieto, someone who can play on the PK, Krebs is not that guy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Sure. Points aren't everything, though. He contributes to offense a lot in ways that aren't reflected on a basic stats sheet, i.e. shutting down play and starting transitions back to offense, moving the puck up the ice, keeping pucks in the offensive zone and moving them into open space for offense to build off of, activating to draw players out of position, etc. There is a reason why he is so attractive to other teams, and his defense first style is a huge part of that. It is something a lot of teams are missing. Most "good" dmen would have absolutely awful goal differentials if they weren't always trying to score. I am of the opinion that dmen should play defense, and a "lack" of offense doesn't make them any less valuable.
Also, you can literally only have a 23 man roster. Having all of these players and prospects in your system does nothing if you can't put them on NHL ice.</div></div>

I love Timo, but I don't think Buff can do it, because we have to pay Dahlin and Power in 1 year. Dahlin is getting at least 9-9.5 right off the bat.
