Kid projects well as a T6 Center. Flyers don’t have anything that compares to it currently in their system. Should line up fairly well with when Michkov comes over.

IMO, Owen Beck has the potential to be a stud 1C. I’m selling high on Konecny (Beck and the 1st are good value in my eyes). I just think Konecny isn’t a part of the sacred timeline.

Devils got a 4th and Canes got a 6th. Obviously is salary retention based. A 3rd AND a 5th seems about right. As I said, I could also see the Flyers keeping Ceci just to make money work.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>BTW AZ is no way going to leave only 1 slot for 3 years, and couple middle picks for a team with a million doesnt move the needle</div>
Doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be Arizona. They have cap space and have been known to weaponize cap space.
Hence the need to tweak.

If the Flyers can get out of Petersen and get Campbell’s contract paid down, less than $2M to back up Ersson ain’t bad. Campbell has done better than Sandstrom and Petersen at the AHL level this season so why not?
If the Flyers land the three players and move out Petersen, I’d be willing to forego the draft pick, if it came down to it.
The biggest hurdle is the compensation to Arizona. Doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be Arizona. Just looking for a team to weaponize cap space. I could even see the Flyers take on Ceci to ensure a draft pick from Edmonton and lessen the draft pick(s) to a third team to make it work.
Just a thought.

I don’t know that it’s an unreasonable cost. Not a top tier prospect. Not a first round pick. Market dictates the value. Anywho. We’ll see what the deal is, if he gets dealt.

WPG-LAK-PHI Lots of moving pieces
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Augustus</b></div><div>The issue is that Iafallo is a perfectly good player for the Jets, who can either play on the fourth line if needed, or on the first line if needed. Very versatile, and can put up some points when asked to (i.e. stints on the first line). They also value Lambert very highly. Tanev COULD draw a very, very solid return if there are a lot of different interested buyers, but cap space still dominates. Teams can only offer what they can offer with their cap space, and that's always a problem for contending teams. The young players the seller of the veteran want don't equal out the cap space a lot of the time.
A 2nd round pick and a prospect for Tanev could be expected, but the quality of the prospect is open to debate. It won't be anything like Logan Stankoven or Calum Ritchie or Brad Lambert. Retaining even 50% won't cost a fortune as it is only for the rest of this season, and pro-rated, won't be much.</div></div>
Very reasonable argument. One of the hurdles with the original proposal (without the Kings) was that the Jets would have to make room on the roster in order to bring Walker on. Would you think the second and a guy like Rashevsky makes better sense? Is sending loaning Stanley to your AHL affiliate an option?
WPG: Walker
Coincident Transaction: Stanley to Minors
PHI: Rashevsky and ‘24 2nd (MTL)

WPG-LAK-PHI Lots of moving pieces
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Lol. You can tell this is a Flyer fan. They give up the least and get the most.</div></div>
I don’t know that I would say the Flyers give up the least. The original thought was Walker to the Jets for Lambert and Montreal’s 2nd this year, which I thought was reasonable. Winnipeg has 23/23 roster slots taken up and would need to move someone off the roster to make any deal work.
The Kings are looking for depth upgrades and Arvidsson is a UFA at the season’s and coming off of back surgery that he only just had 3-4 months ago. Yes, definitely is a productive player, but, IMO, is a HUGE question mark the rest of the way.
The Jets, in theory, could move Iafallo and not be losing much in terms of offense, as he is mainly relegated to 3rd/4th line usage. The Kings don’t exactly have much in terms of cap space either.
The Flyers then facilitate moving Iafallo back to the Kings by retaining 50% of his contract, and giving up a VERY valuable retention slot (2nd of 3) and taking back the the Arvidsson contract, that expires at the end of the year. The Flyers weaponizing their cap space (they could still put Ryan Ellis on LTIR to clear more if needed) and the use of a retention slot, would be ultimately be receiving Turcotte, a player that needs a change of scenery to have a better chance, and a 1st round pick.
Is the 1st being a smidge too greedy? That’s debatable. It is justifiable. Would I be willing to take a 2nd back instead? Sure, but the Kings don’t have a 2nd until next year. I would then want the 2nd to have a condition of moving to a lottery protected 1st in 2025 based on Kings success (making it to WCF or SCF).

I don’t see why the Flyers would want this. They aren’t dumping problems. They’re trying to acquire assets. An AHL winger on an expiring deal doesn’t check any boxes.

What do you feel is reasonable? Walker will likely get a similar package that Tanev gets. If it were no money changing hands, a 2nd and a prospect, but the fact that any team will most likely have to retain a good chunk to make it work increases the return.

This is a MASSIVE overpay by the Stars.</div></div>
You’re probably right, but Dallas, and a few other teams, is looking for a RD upgrade. There is definitely a potential for a bidding war for his services. The Stars have Stankoven and Bourque at AHL level. The Flyers would also have to pay down close a third of the cost to make it work for Dallas. I can admit it is an overpay, but if that’s the market value, then that’s the market value.

I mean, I’d definitely have to think about it. Maybe even see if they could substitute Friedman for someone/something else. Myers is a UFA at the end of the year. He’s a +10 compared to Sanheim’s -4. Yeah Sanheim’s gonna bring you points, but you get out from under all of Sanheim’s contract. Heck, even with bringing back Friedman, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Myers to be potentially flipped at the TDL.
I don’t think it’s a hard no.
