Bruins obviously decline. Just because he's having one ****ty postseason does not mean he's available, let alone to a rival, and certainly not for pennies on the dollar

Keeping PLD
If Boston moves Ullmark it's to make space to add at forward. Gavrikov is more expensive and doesn't fill a need, so pass on him

PLD is on a team with better depth at center than the B's. So obviously it'll reflect on his stats.
Milk cartons in Boston should have Coyle and Zacha's picture.</div></div>
That's a ridiculous excuse for PLD's play. The Kings would not have paid him 8.5M if they didn't expect him to be a key player. His minutes reflect his play and production, not vice versa.

They were better this year, and even if that doesn't continue neither Coyle or Zacha are making 8.5M for the next 7 years, thank god
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>draft_em_sign_em_trade_em</b></div><div>
With all the hate Marner got, why aren't the B's talking badly about their 2 top centers going awol in the playoffs ?</div></div>
So did Dubois vs Edmonton, so what exactly does this solve for Boston?

off season
Ryan Reaves for a Selke finalist is completely out of the question for Carolina, and everything but the kitchen sink for a pending UFA on the wrong side of 35 (albeit a talented one who the Bruins are very attached to) doesn't seem to benefit the Leafs at all
Ah wait just saw Knies scratched this is definitely bait

No. Unlikely Poitras is moved at all but if he is it will be for a long term solution. Nelson's age precludes him from being that no matter what the extension looks like

Would it work
Bruins moving Ullmark would be in order to clear space to upgrade at forward. Adding a defenseman who makes more than Ullmark (and can't run a PP, which is Bostons only real need in a defenseman) defeats the purpose
As to Spence, he's more interesting but Bostons right side is set for the next few years

Montreal 2024-25
I'm not sure why all the other Bruins fans are pretending this isn't interesting. The team very much needs a D for the first PP unit and this is a fair offer for a good potential fit. That said, there's a good chance they're developing Lohrei to be that guy, and if not then I think they might take a run at Skjei in UFA to try and preserve their pick. Tentatively I'll say Boston declines, but I like the idea.

Blow it up as much as we can
It's not the worst idea, but the Bruins decline. I like Brock Nelson as a player, but he will be a pending UFA and 33 years old by the time he gets into a game for them. I'd rather they keep Zacha and wait for the right fit at C than spend what few assets they have on a band-aid solution

Kampf has no value with his contract, Carlo > Liljegren and Liljegren isn't even much younger, and Minten and Robertson do not fit Boston's needs in an Ullmark trade. Doesn't work at all for the Bruins, and is even worse when you consider they're helping a rival fill two major holes in their roster

I'd be willing to do it to make it happen, I think. I'm fairly high on Frost, and unlike Geekie I don't think he has hit his ceiling.

Merkulov is a very naturally gifted scorer, plays LW and C and is probably ready for NHL games in some capacity. Lead Providence in scoring with 60 points in 64 games and is generally considered their best player. The downside is he's already 23, so you'd want to get him into the NHL now or never.

Necas for RHD
Carlo creates a big hole for Boston but I think they do it, especially if they can use their spending power to find a replacement in FA. Necas fills a big need, and he'll get a real chance to prove he has 1C upside with Pastrnak

I could possibly see the Bruins move Morgan Geekie if they were trying to replace him with someone with more upside (for instance, moving him out to acquire Frost from PHI). This package contains nothing interesting, though. Krebs gets less and less interesting as the years go by, Sardarian is a nothing prospect, and a 4th is a 4th.

No chance the Sens are moving that contract without far more clarity on Norris' future and the level of hockey he can play, let alone get positive assets for him. He's just far too risky of an asset for anyone to want long term at 8M/season
