With the Draft Capital they have I don’t think the two later 2nds hurt ARI, but reducing retention from 34% to 17% and taking one 2nd out is satiable.

I find the trade return pretty accurate tbh b/c of the goalie swap. Don’t understand why the kings wouldn’t make this trade if they are trying to win right now. Probably take out the 2025 2nd for another prospect or make it conditional based on a cup final appearance from a ‘23 3rd.

Trying without Mercer or Holtz going back to CGY.

Would Consider Foote and/or Zetterlund as forward prospect replacements but believe they will both make the opening night roster, albeit waiver exempt.

The only player I don't think vegas would trade is Tuch. I understand positionally in exchange for Ryan, but I think Ottawa would prefer another D-man. Hague because Vegas is not giving up Branstrom.

Idk, in the playoffs you want as much depth as possible, thats why you give the prospects along with picks there. If it took Ritchie to make the deal along with a prospect and picks I would make the trade, don't think Bob Murray would though.

Anaheim would never give up Ritchie there. Swap in Max Jones (similar player to Ritchie) and Sam steel along with a couple picks and you may get MaxPac.

Idk he's teaming up with a young core in Landeskog, Mackinnon and Rantenan and Mackinnon is looking like a beast this year. Central is wide open and more competitive than the Atlantic. Avs still have 1st rounder this year as well (2018), Avs have a strong hockey market and history. He can change his no trade list.

You forgot Santini and Coleman. JVR not needed. Noesen > Stafford. Lovejoy is a good number 8 with Mueller Healthy. Carlson will probably get more money and term than Shattenkirk who was last years top D and Carlson is wayyyyy better than him. I would like Carlson on our team however.

You are forgetting about Quennville who will be on the 3rd line, with Blandisi and you can count on Coleman and Lappin in the AHL with Santini logging plenty of minutes in the NHL. Wood, Boyle and Noesen can all play a mean game so there's some of your grit. Otherwise Devils need more top 4 D options and yeah then playoffs eventually.

Try a better process. Signing Severson to a 4 year deal makes him eligible for FA after his contract expires. Instead do a 6 year 4.5 mil (Ghost contract) that buys out 2 extra years of FA. And you should resign Josefson so that McLeod can play in junior for an extra year. And the Kovy trade wouldn't go thru, the Sharks need Meier (best forward prospect), but with their Defensive Depth can afford to trade Mueller and a 2018 2nd for Kovy and a '18 3rd instead. I bet it would turn into a 2018 1st if we retained around 1.5 mil + on the Kovy contract. Trust the Process.

Didn't know that about McCaron, but if Montreal trades Price. which is definitely possible with 1 year left, acquiring assets that can be flipped to Col can create a more dynamic offense and defensively reliable D-core (while still having solid prospects in Sergachev and Juulesen) so getting a replacement goalie for Price will be through the FA market which holds a bunch of 1A options.
