Leonard
I know this is a joke post but if you were to actually trade Leonard you could get a better player than Zegras. I like Zegras but his value is way down.

Slight Retool
I don't think PIT has the assets to acquire Saros. That certainly isn't it. Maybe if you replaced the 2nds with 1sts.

Ok now
I would do that as a Caps fan but no way in hell Caps ever trade Oshie. Honestly, I think he retires this summer.

Next Year

Either he get dealt or he re-signs. Or he gets dealt and re-signs there. The likelihood of him hitting free agency is low.. very low.</div></div>
That's fine. Chychurn is good, he's not worth the trade though.

Washington
Pass on Duchene and Tara. Caps desperately need to get younger and they have lots of young forwards that need ice time (Lenny, Miro, Cristall, Funk, Dube, Suzdalev)

Caps Fans How U Feeling About Tomorrow
My concern isn't BOS. My concern is winning against BOS then having stupid Philly having nothing to play for going all out just to ruin the Caps chances.

Plans if Dvorsky is Ready
I love Buch but can't see Caps spending that much on a 28yo that can be a UFA next summer. Think they'll spend their assets on 25 and younger guys.

Will They Still Be A Playoff Team Next Year
For sure. Great center and defensive depth. Only weakness is wingers, especially since Stone can't stay healthy. They might want to think about trading Theodore for a legit top 6 winger.

Colton for Dowd
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>The Caps might consider this but I doubt they would want to pay ontop of Dowd. Could see a 1 for 1 due to cap constraint but no chance they do this with losing positioning in the draft</div></div>
I don't think they'd mind switching a 3rd for a 5th. I'd be interested in this deal nonetheless. It's intriguing that could help both teams.

Doesn't make sense for the Caps unless they trade away Dowd and then 2 of Jensen, TvR, Bear.

Remember when no one wanted Miller
I think the thought was he was going to get $9M+, getting him at $8M is good. And of course there will always be a concern about the last 3 years of that deal but for now he's worth the money for sure.

Since Duhaime and Parise are UFAs this summer you're trying to get Lindgren for a 5th. That ain't happening.

Batherson isn't worth close to that. Holy hell. You can get a much better player with that package. Batherson is meh, he just happens to light up the Caps for some reason. His analytics are garbage as well. Hard pass.

Caps pass on both Monahan and Lindholm. They aren't worth their next contracts.
Caps aren't spending a 1st on Chychurn. They'll wait a season to get him in FA.
McMichael will also get more money.

Caps pass on all of those UFA signings, except maybe Kubel.
No way they trade Oshie. He'll retire this summer anyways.
Caps would get WAY more for Dowd, Lindgren and TvR.
They're not trading for a goalie.

Caps don't do any of that except maybe the Hanifin offer.
Dowd isn't being traded and if he is it will be for more than that. TvR is getting a 2nd if Caps are eating money. Caps will never ever trade Oshie, they love him so much, plus he's probably retiring anyways.
I appreciate what Patches has done but he hasn't earned that contract with the Caps. Caps need to get younger and use the spot wisely. Same goes for Duchene. Offering Duchene, a 33yo, a 5 year contract is very unwise. They have plenty of forwards coming in with Miro, Lenny, and Cristall.

That's fine. It's worth the gamble. Like I said I like Chych but it's not like he's a world beater. Caps will only be spending their top tier assets on those type of players.

I think Caps don't use a 1st unless it's a top pairing or top line guy. I like Chych but might as well wait a 1 more year and get him in UFA if you really want him. We already have Fehervary and Sandin as our top 4 LHD.
