And why would the Avs want Bonino anyways?
I'm not sure I understand this pickup. He is one of the slower players in the NHL and we already have Ryjo, soooooo..... what's the point?

Agree, Avs decline since all Winger positions are filled.
Trades will be geared towards the C position and possibly a back-up G.
A 6 or 7th D-man is also a good option. You never have too many D, in the playoffs!

The One where Chandler Joins the Avalanche
One thing that was forgotten here, is not only will Chandler sign 1 x $3M, but Crosby is being traded to the Avs for a 5th Rd pick on this year's Draft Floor and we're singing UFA Elias Lindholm at 4x $4M...
Elias told me himself, I swear this is a done deal... wink wink
McKinnon
Crosby
Lindholm
Ross down the middle
You're welcome!!

Fair enough but speaking as an Avs fan. That'll be a big fat no from us. We are in the Cup window for the next 3-5 years and we need Toews on the back end WAAAAY more then we need draft picks.
Toews and Makar is in the Top D pairings in the league (Number 1 in my book but I'm biased), so splitting that up would be a HUGE mistake.... unless Bo Byram takes a huge step and Toews takes a HUGE step back...

I'm not sure I understand CBJ, offering trades to Cup Contenders, to exchange roster players for picks and lesser players.
Why would COL send you our 2nd best D, Boston send their 1B G and VGK, send a regular D-man? These 3 teams are fighting for the Cup!
I completely understand how this helps CBJ but it's quite unrealistic for the other teams.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MeetYourMakar</b></div><div>It would work out better for the Avs to buyout RyJo than taking on Goodrow. I appreciate the new idea though</div></div>
I love the grit Goodrow brings, but the biggest issue is term.
Avs fans will all agree the Ryjo hasn't worked out but he only has one year left. He is still VERY solid in the dot!
The only way this would work, is if Goodrow could be relied on, solely as a C. Avs don't need Wingers.
All in all, there will be better options available down the road, for the Avs to dump Ryjo.

Does Kahkonen move the needle enough for COL to do that trade??
Or is it time to see, what COL has in Annunen over the next 5 weeks?
No interest in Granlund as our answer to the C position. Don't see a good fit.

Yes, Guly is an overpay but we have to remember, the Avs are offering a prospect who's easily 3 years out... KHL contract.
We have high hopes for Foudy but with his injuries, I doubt he has ANY value across other teams. Even OO's value is low but he's playing at least.

It is VERY possible the Tarasenko goes for a 1st, but it won't be to COL. We don't need a winger.

I would probably say it a little different. Take out the 1st Rd pick, keep Behrens and it's a Bingo!

Good, cause COL has no need for a Winger. We need a C and a decent, cheap back-up G (preferably without term).
OTT declines the EDM offer??? I found that deal quite lopsided for OTT. Maybe I'm missing something. Is Chychrun THAT loved in OTT?

COL fan here, and I think that's a pretty decent offer.
We get rid of Johanson, get a good back up G, with good 4C and a prospect.
As for the BUF trade, why would BUF do that?
Getting rid fo a good 2C (COL would love to have Mitts) for a decent RHD and a couple of picks. How does this make BUF better?

Since PHI might be desperate for help in the crease, could we not take advantage of that, by offering a goalie Prosvetov or Annunen as part of a package, to get M. Frost?

Are you saying that PHI offered Gauthier for Byram, and COL said No????
I don't see COL being interested in giving up a roster player (while going for another Cup run), for a prospect that might not even play this year.
I can see a roster player for a roster player though. I think Frost for Byram is a win-win.
