Never questioned the signing itself, questioned whether he was better than Horvat, I’ve always been a big fan of Miller’s so he would’ve been on this team last year or the year before as well. Now we know he is better than Horvat when he sets his mind to it, so he gets the top line spot.

Break the Drought
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Czu8iks</b></div><div>But he`s got no room to grow on this roster. He is not better than Cozens and Thompson in any aspect of the hockey. He could be better than 4C centering boat anchors in Okposo and Girgensons.
He showed no improvement after being move from them. There are Savoie and Kulich waiting for roster spot, and you dont want them to put behind Krebs or with Girgensons/Okposo 25/26 equivalent.
You will eventually trade Jokiharju and/or Rosen for bottom 6 forward, hopefully better than Krebs.</div></div>
This type of thinking simply does not make sense
U can’t put someone in a defensive center role, for 1 & 3/4 seasons, playing with “boat anchors” (your words) and then
just expect him to flip the switch right away when thrust into
a completely different role- with brand new linemates to get used to & find a connection with- even if they are more talented.
Chemistry matters. And it’s hard to be confident in a new role right away that is brand new to him in the NHL
He doesn’t need to overtake Tage or Cozens either
Mittelstadt was able to grow & develop into a good player with them anchored in the top 2 center spots
Krebs just turned 23 dude, he’s still VERY young
And here’s the thing you’re gonna have to realize
Even if u did convince me- u haven’t btw- that just doesn’t matter at all
I’m not the one making the decisions, Adams is
And it seems as if Adams is gonna give him a shot at 3C
He’s shown nothing but patience with our young talent
So shipping him out for a 3rd (essentially nothing) would be a very surprising move

DEFENSE OVERLOAD
No thank you
Power starts a 7 year deal next year
Dahlin an 8 year deal
Samuelsson has 6 years left
Byram was just acquired and due in a year for a new contract
Not a good use of assets to have to give up peterka and then pay hronek

I dont believe we will see Kulich - Savoie - Benson line beyond preseason. Most likely Krebs outplays Savoie for bottom 6 center role</div></div>
I don’t think Girgs is a sure thing to come back
50/50 imo
I agree Krebs is likely to factor in- somewhere
Idk for sure it’s that 3rd line though?
We could have him be our “checking line” Center again
Kulich might get first shot at 3C over Savoie, simply bc he’s been doing it in Rochester w Savoie still in Juniors
Or we could bring in a Center for the 3C spot or the Checking Center role, & obviously that would change things
It’ll be interesting to see what direction Adams goes from here

Random Jeff Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Czu8iks</b></div><div>I agree, cap space shouldnt be an issue next season, obviously if there isnt any internal cap space. But then, with big extension for Peterka and Byram, Skinner's deal has to be dumped.</div></div>
Not even then necessarily
We could move a smaller Cap hit out instead- say someone like Samuelsson- to make room
Or we could do bridge contracts instead of the 7x7 type deals we gave Tage & Cozens
Point is :
1- we don’t have to do anything at all with Skinner for next season
2- when it comes time that we do actually need Cap Space, we’ll have options other than dumping him or buying him out
Regardless, it’s all premature at this point

I wouldn't trade Peterka for Necas straight up.

Peterka is a 3 years younger, cost controlled asset that is already on the fringe of Necas' production while playing for a bottom of the standings team. That would be bad asset management.

If Dorion wasnt terrible at his job
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Czu8iks</b></div><div>Sens went with big forward. He still could be useful, bigger guys need more time to adjust to speed of the game, they are not gonna dominate physically in NHL.
Chychrun trade was good trade, he was producing nicely for Yotes, cheap, long contract - worth 1st, from not-rebuilding team.
Not sure, how can you blame GM for that. Teams sucks, for variours reasons, and adding Benson and Peterka would not change that - look where Sabres are.</div></div>
You aren’t wrong that it isn’t all a GMs fault however… Since 2017 Ottawa has only drafted 7 players in the 1st round. (4 in the top 10 1 of which is Boucher) Considering they traded Stone, Karlsson, Duchene, Pageau, Hoffman, all in their prime at the start of the rebuild you’d assume there would be a few extra prospects in the pipeline.

It's not supposed to be a trade. I'm guess this guy is too lazy to write an explanation. Chicago trade was not trading for Debrincat and drafting the same guy with the pick. Seattle trade is either protecting Daccord some how or claiming him back on waivers. Buffalo trade is not trading for Chychrun and using that pick to select Benson and also not selecting Jarventie and instead selecting JJP.

Pegula's not taking on a contract where the actual salary remaining is roughly 7.65 million per year. They're gunna spend well below 90 mil in actual salary with Dahlin owed a bonus this year as well.

Well, now, that's an entirely different argument, and an entirely defensible one, too -- and one with which I at least agree. And I also agree that at this stage of his career, Zegras isn't very good defensively. But there is both room and plenty of time for improvement.

There’s NO CHANCE the Sabres are interested in a defenseman who turns 37 before this season is over
Plus he has 4 years left on his contract after this
Sabres wouldn’t want a Letang for free

Makes absolutely ZERO SENSE for the Sabres
