HA! just to spite you Pierre-Luc, you will have to go play hockey in sunny California, mhuhahahah, so far from home. Take that.
Yeah, that will teach him.
I think we kid our selves if we believe he's the only player to ask for a trade out of a city or a coach change.
For whatever reason, with him, it's always publicly known.
I think what Tavares and Gaudreau did was worst.
They will get some value out of him. And he never signed a contract with the Jets, (except this one) why would he need to have loyalty towards them?

This guy's a real piece of work, he thinks that you need to forgive a guy before he has done a single thing to earn forgiveness, simply because he's a hockey player. Now he's gonna spout some stuff about how he works in hockey and with players like that doesnt make it so much worse

Thank goodness for forgiveness and adults willing to show the way. Then when I coached I had players with drugs, alcohol, girls in hotel rooms and I never kicked one player off the team but decided to love them and show them a better way to live.
According to your measuring stick, I would have to kick one of my sons out of my house when he did something stupid 4 years ago. It’s a good thing he didn’t have you as a father.</div></div>
Yes, we know you're an enabler, you can stop now.

Not sure that's an example of someone that "learned from it". The $ punishment badly represents the damage to the victim. That may seem harmless, but that can ****ing hurt someone psychologically. Just paying a few hundreds $ can't solve this
If MTL felt like he really showed a more mature of himself after that (like his statement), I can understand that. It seems like other teams had him on their radar. With Miller (ARI pick they eventually renounced) "teams that asked Miller about the incident before the draft felt he did not show the appropriate level of remorse or take responsibility for what he did." It doesnt seem like other teams felt like that

Checking the cap situation
I think Kulak would be traded before being waived. Kulak is a good deal at $1.85 and 2 years. Trading him for a pick or prospect would be a better idea.
Also, I think Romanov could be a BEAST; I just hope the Habs don't rush his development. I do think he'll be in the mix for a spot on the team for sure.

Everyone overrates their mid tier prospects. His skating isn't great. Thats a red flag, and classic on a guy who does well below the NHL but doesn't do well in the NHL. He could do well and that is always the benefit with prospects, but he is far from blue chip.

It's not about overrating. We know he's not a projected 1C... He's turning into a high end 3C, low end 2C that plays a huge 200-foot game.. so essentially, a more up-side version of Danault. This is a very valuable asset. Other than KK, he's our most ready C prospect, and Suzuki will end up playing RW in the NHL while Domi should probably move back to the wing.
Don't get me wrong, I love Gostisbehere, and would gladly welcome a way to put him into a Habs shirt and although your trade proposal makes sense based on value, I don't think the Habs are ready or should give up that amount futures for him. We could find someone at a slightly lower tier than him for cheaper.
But again, your value was pretty well done. I'm sure other teams can offer a similar package to get this done.

Montreal Realistic?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawaiianPig</b></div><div>I think you can do this without trading away the 3rd overall. That return is not worth it. Habs have only picked in the top 3 like twice in the last three decades. You don't pass that up. Zadina is worth more than the two players the other first rounders fetch.
I would also hold on to Byron, value to cap dollars ratio is incredible and you want more of that on your team rather than less.
Others have said Patches will fetch more, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were right; I expect him to go for much less than we're all expecting.</div></div>
Really? I thought a a top 6c and top 4d would equal a 1st line lw to a team lacking quality depth. How has having a 1st line lw without solid centers gone so far?(patches). Seems like getting a fringe #1b center + a future #3 rhd would solve 2 needs. I mentioned that I think Weber is moved in a year and woo could play 3rd pair with Juulsen at 2nd pair.
You’d have to add in the value Weber brings back (1st++) to show this deal fully. I’ll make a 2020 thread incorporating the ideas Mtl fan have had.
Byron’s not going to get a 2nd imo. He’s not good enough for a top 50 or 60 player imo. Two 4ths give a solid chance at developing 3rd liner depth.
Patches is solid but after a down year and being a rental cripple his value imo. A sign and trade could be Mtl salvation, but if it’s a pure rental then Anaheim is a good fit if they want one last chance for the cup with Getzlaf, Perry and Kessler. They could just offer Ritchie + #21 for patches and call it even.
Thank you for the response.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawaiianPig</b></div><div>You're right about the Schlemko pick. I've fixed that deal, I think.
As for LAK: they have a vice grip on their prospects and Clague is their second best behind Vilardi, I don't honestly think they'd bite on the deal I've presented, even with Hudon, but I figure if it's ever going to happen, I'd have to overpay.</div></div>
Depends how short they see their window as being with Kopitar and Doughty. Pacioretty helps a lot. They are strong on the RW and weak on the LW. He balances out either of the top two lines.

If you can get a 3rd for Schlemko, you're a magician.
Drop Hudon from the LAK deal and it balances nicely. That or take the picks out.
