Not going to debate the value of the trade. But Tampa Bay declines. Cirelli is exactly what a team wants at 2C. Goes hard every shift. Provides offense, great D, excellent penalty killer. He would be way to hard for Tampa to replace.

While the value isn't awful, the Hawks won't blow up their rebuild plan to trade for him. If Cat really wants to return to Chicago, he can wait until next summer and sign as a UFA.

Vancouver declines that 1st trade. They aren't using #11 to dump Myers. Hawks don't make trades 2 or 3. Caps pay the Hawks to take Mantha. And Hawks don't get nearly enough in the Edmonton trade to take Campbell.

This trade basically puts TRad's value at pick #38, which is probably a little low relative to how Hawks likely value him. Then Hawks get the 3 players for free (at least in terms of trade assets). If Garland has neutral value, would the Hawks or Canucks take/use Boeser to pay for/dump Myers? I don't hate it from the Hawks side, but can see why they might not do it. I'm not certain Vancouver would be on board either.

Your premise regarding Olafsson is flawed. Hawks aren't going to spend assets or trade back to get to the cap floor. The Hawks will use #35 for the same purpose as Buffalo - to grab another 1st round pick. Or they'll pick a player who is a much longer term piece than Olafsson. Buffalo needs to send Olafsson half retained to a playoff contender if they want to get decent value for him.
