I was so disappointed when the Hawks took Boqvist instead of Wahlstrom at #8 overall in the '18 draft. Probably explains why I never worked in an NHL front office!

Or just keep Wahlstrom. Lee, JGP and the 1st for F/C?

Tampa GM JBB loves Tanner J. He's not getting traded for two 3rd's.

Exactly. It's not. But I really don't see Hronek as a player who makes the blue line better defensively. Tampa has plenty of offense from their blue line. They need another Cernak type player. Perbix was supposed to be that guy but his hockey IQ seems really low. Makes too many poor decisions. Hronek's new contract would be problematic as well. Likely winds up costing more than what Cirelli does, which is cap space Tampa doesn't have.

Off season
You actually have another $4m to work with. The cap is going up to $87.7m for next season.
That's a bold move in goal! Lankinen and a rookie.
Stamkos isn't a center these days. He's a LW pretty exclusively. Still takes some faceoffs, but that's about it.
Hawks probably accept. Glass is worth a shot.

Fabbri also gets more ice time in Chicago, which kinda counters your less talented linemates claim.</div></div>
Hawks do want to get better. But there are far better options than Fabbri. He's a career 30 point per season player w/ persistent injury issues. Hawks will be looking for more impactful additions than Fabbri. UFA's like Marchessault, Bertuzzi, Tarasenko for the forward group. I'd actually be shocked if any team gave up a pick to acquire Fabbri.

Hawks accept. Hawks might also make that JGP deal if Utah isn't interested.

The west is still pretty stacked. Not sure this group can jump 6 other teams to get in the playoffs. Three virtual rookies on the blue line?
Hawks pass. McGinn hasn't been a useful player since his days in Carolina. Ducks have plenty of cap space. Just buy him out.
And Stamkos isn't moving his family to LA for that contract.

Which isn't saying a whole lot. After Bedard and Kurashev, the offense of the Hawks was pathetic. And Fabbri wouldn't have the same level of production in Chicago as he did in Detroit because he'd be playing w/ less talented line mates.

New GM New Lineup
Yes, this team could compete for a playoff spot.
A 4th to dump Hamonic is fair value. But can't see the Hawks being interested. They want to get better next year. Hamonic doesn't help with that.

Hey Elliotte, can you still find tapes for that VCR? Tampa Bay probably declines. Scoring goals isn't the problem. It's keeping the puck out of their own net. Adding another offensive D man at the expense of maybe their best defensive forward seems like a step in the wrong direction. Plus Hronek's new contract probably eats up cap space the Bolts need to spend elsewhere.

Hawks might have an interest in Knight if the price is reasonable. Pick #34 in the draft is not reasonable.

Might not matter this season or next. But once Bedard, Korchinski and now Nazar are on their 2nd contracts and the Hawks are really trying to win, that $1.5m might come in handy. Honestly, don't see the team or the player doing it.

Sold! If Stammer agreed to that number, Hawks probably pay it on a one or two year deal. Got plenty of cap space and Stammer is a big upgrade over Hall on Bedard's LW.

Stammer isn't leaving Tampa for $6m. Tampa can probably pay him at least $5.5m per.

Next season is a contract year for him. He's auditioning for a new deal (with someone else - not the Hawks!) Watch. He'll be better. But your assessment of him is pretty accurate.

No chance the Hawks give Reichel a 6 year deal. 2x$2.5m is probably as good as it gets for Lucas. I'd be fine taking a flyer on Wahlstrom for free. Wouldn't give up anything for him though. Those other two trades are easy no's for the Hawks. Get what your trying to do, but taking on $14m in cap hit, and more than $10m for 3 more years, costs qay more than a 3rd and a couple of longshot RD prospects.

Another LD is probably the last thing the Hawks would trade Kurashev for. And isn't it against the Geneva Convention or some UN rule to trade one Swiss player for another? Anyway, easy no from the Hawks.

Yeah, this all seems feasible. This roster should meet the "being better" goal KD has. Feel like the Hawks are going to give Nazar a shot at being a C. So if they acquire JGP, could definitely see Nazar spending the season in Rockford playing C.

Hawks decline. They don't need any more bottom 6 forwards. And a 4th for Ylonen is pretty optimistic anyway. Also can't see Anaheim trading away a former 1st round pick after just one pro season. And as you stated, Montreal definitely adds in that deal.
