In my opinion, Guhle is near-untouchable. I would not even do this 1 fo 1. It would need a much better player, with a lot more skill and potetnial than Brady, for me to even consider changing my mind.

Emptying the cupboard for Petey
This could get done prior to the draft
Myers contract would be done so remove him.
Assume Lindholm extends
Remove Savard retention.
Lekkerimaki comes in to help Van next year with offensive gap - maybe throw a C in there from the Habs instead of Roy - even a healthy Dach (and remove a pick)
Vancouver would not have as much of a offensive punch, but they would still be a top tier team.
Habs D core is fine with the prospects coming up (maybe a season more to fine tune them)
With expiring contracts, Van is able to replenish their D core with quality players.
Habs would look way better down the middle, and be able to reallocate other forwards to fill their gaps.
I would say do it if Petterson agrees to extend for 6+ years.

Just threw this together.
Players needs to be either from NS - or played Jr in NS
Defence and Goaltending (after Fleury) required adding some prospects.
Hopefully those top line would light the lamps enough to force wins.

2024 Draft Floor Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MacAttack_NHL</b></div><div>You underestimated Matheson value. Vegas will bust salary cap. KH will not trade two defs for picks. HABS need forwards.</div></div>
I was playing conservative on Matheson’s value as to not get raked over the coals.
Martinez, and his $5.25 will be off the books. Matheson is cheaper, younger, and better.
Hughes has too many LD coming up and already up, so losing both Harris and Matheson would be noticable - but
Guhle, Wifi, Stuble, Hutson (Norlinder and Engstrom also knocking on the door) will be more than enough to cover the side.
Cataford may end up in Laval, but could develop further into a serviceable fwd with the big club. If Matheson could get more of a haul, then it means there are more chips to trade for another forward.

After we see what Hutson can or cannot do, he will either rocket to the Top 10, or fall back to around his original draft position. There will be no in between. I like him around where you have him, until we find out.

Arizona has a slew of unisgned prospects within their system. Some may be able to make the leap, others need a little more time to cook. They have 20 picks in rounds 1-3 over the next 3 drafts, they will need to convert some of those picks and/or prospects into roster players. They have the young talent to start competing, and most of their contact spots will be taken up within a couple years.
Maybe they bundle a bunch of them higher end talent to a team starting a rebuild. Maybe I will make another trade on here for for the Yotes to grow and use up some picks

He would be a 2nd pairing LD on the Yotes. He slots in behind Matheson and Guhle most nights, and the Habs have a plethora of LD, so they have been rotating them in and out.

He would be a decent trade piece for someone in off season when he will be an expiring contract.. He really hasn't been that bad here, just doesn't have the speed to keep up with the wingers the Avs have so it's not a good fit.... Put him with two slower wingers and he would be solid. He has been good on PP..</div></div>
So RJ vs Allen (full price)- and the real return to Habs is whatever they can fetch in the offseaon for Johanson. I would do that.

I saw 3rd hand rumours (Matt Murley) - that the Avs were looking at getting Allen. Not sure how to contruct this better given Avs limited picks, and cap crunch.
How would you construct a deal for Allen to the Avs?

I get that. I don't think either of those are "room" problems. Armia is a pro, he went to Laval earlier in the season and did not sulk, complain or anything - he just went to work.
