I have heavy doubts Yzerman would have interest, let alone be willing to pay, for Markstrom.

In the scenario Kane leaves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Huge_Caniac_Abe_Lincoln</b></div><div>A first 2 years from now, 2 AHLers, and a 4th is not that great of a return for a pending RFA. Honestly a "fair" trade if we go for a Fiala/Reinhart comp (neither of which are great IMO, as Buffalo was restarting a rebuild and Minnesota was about to start a multi year 15 million dollar dead cap era), would be this years first and a decent prospect. Again though, if you are trying to make an offer that forces Carolina to move Necas, a "solid" return probably isn't what they are looking for.
I think that the front office is more likely to try and lock up Necas long term than they are to pay Guentzel 8.5+M for his 36/37 age years. Even then, they can bridge Jarvis and buyout/trade KK and they have room for Necas.</div></div>
Not gonna disagree this is an underpay, but Aljo and Berggrenvare only AHLers because Yzerman stuffed this team with too much **** and cant reasonably get them up without dumping assets. They're both NHL quality players.

yea no worries; Some of us are pretty sensitive in regards to that. No hurt in throwing darts at the board unless they're egrigious.

You guys get mad about us bragging, but if it was that easy, than why didn’t Detroit make it? Or any other team?</div></div>
I'm not mad, I'm sorta chuckling. Hard to convey that via text, I know.

I mean, I kinda understand what you're saying, but it seems like you agree that Raymond is worth more than Keller?
Your take at least has more substance than just posting one of these and hoping to collect a bucket of offers (@ OP).

Raymond has a significantly better production than Keller did at his age. That gets shot down before the offer is even made.

If Mo and Ray take bridge deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuzzledActuary</b></div><div>Bridge deals exist for a reason, and it's not always the case that players get massive raises when the bridge is over. Plus a lot of those prospects either won't be NHLers or highly paid NHLers.
Lalonde is plenty competent btw. Team is having a great year.</div></div>
I always interpreted bridge deals as a "prove-it" deal or a deal you make out of cap restrictions. Maybe the bridge deal is forced by the agent. More often than not, signing a bridge deal is not out of choice by the team.
The team is bottom 5 in almost every performance metric; they're overachieving significantly due to a high shooting percentage mixed with a lucky bout of goaltending. If Lyon was average during his stretch, this team would have been eliminated a few weeks ago. It is also quite clear this team depends on Larkin for more than just his skill -- he's a leader. When he went down, the team crumbled. Lalonde has no control of the locker room. He is no more than a bridge coach.

If Mo and Ray take bridge deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuzzledActuary</b></div><div>Why?</div></div>
Because they're more likely to get significantly better than regress once they have a competent coach and apt deployment. Signing long term reduces their cap-hit long term when the cap is *likely* to rise exponentially.
Plus, you don't want paying them and the ELC extensions of our future prospects at the same time.

Hypothetical
Wishful returns on all but Maatta, though theres probably 30 other teams that would be more interested in him.
Cossa, although has been very good in the AHL, would benefit from another year and fine tune his game. There is zero chance that Pellikka makes the team next season (whether he should or not is a different discussion), odds are he re-signs with Skelleftea for another year. I'd like to see Kasper, Mazur, or even Danielson in a non-4th line role next season.
I also doubt Berggren re-signs with this team; from his perspective, cracking an Yzerman roster seems insurmountable.

Johansson ain't a career AHLer, Yzerman just horribly managed him and Edvinsson for the matter.
He's a very good prospect.
