😂Nice joke. Why are you not including Kemell/Askarov to make the trades more fair then? You are the one overvaluing.

Idiot! Acquiring Yamamoto wasn't the main piece Yzerman was targeting - in a Interview Yzerman said that he likes Kostin's size and tenacity and he could get a bigger role in Detroit. I won't be surprised if Yamato gets flipped in another trade since Yzerman also said that he isn't sure about Yamamoto's future yet.
Also. We didn't give up any assets in the trade. And Yamamoto has a cheaper contract and RFA status.

1 Elite small player > 2 Middle-6 small players. I would rather have that one elite small player and fill the 3rd-4th line with some bigger players that are suited better for that role. Size is not the only thing, but look at the rosters that have had the most success: Tampa, Vegas, Blues in 2019, Caps in 2018 those are some big teams that are hard to play against.

No thanks. We don't really need more smallish wingers, we have enough of them in the organization right now.

Disagree. We have a bunch of middle-6 wingers already and it would be better to give the young guns that ice time. I remember that there where a lot of Habs fans who talked highly about Chiarot's 20-21 Playoffs. Bounceback incoming😅? Who knows, but that is a possibility.
It doesn't make sense to trade a high 2nd round pick when we have the Cap space + We need to add physicality, not trade it away. GM's also love these big physical guys, with 50% retained salary, Chiarot isn't worth anything? I have hard time to believe so.

Coyotes signed Crouse to a 5y contract. Why would they even consider trading him unless they are getting a massive offer? 6'4 Power forward who can score goals: Teams will be overpaying for him if Arizona makes him available.
Crookshank...AHL'er. Sokolov is 23 already and can't even crack the Senators lineup. I know both Crookshank and Sokolov are young, but they have proved nothing at the NHL level yet. And Arizona have like fifteen 2nd round picks already.

Detroit doesn't do that, but what is that Lawson Crouse trade? Red Wings need to pay an "in-division premium" but Senators can get Lawson Crouse for pennies:huh

I agree.
What is the point when there is over 20 million in Cap space. Creator himself said that if Chiarot plays well, he could be a trade piece. But why would Detroit not tryna do that😅? Just wasting a high 2nd round pick with this move.

Yzerman did not sign Chiarot just to dump him a year later. There is 21 million in Cap space, so what is the point? Just wasting a high pick. Take Chiarot out of the lineup and we are getting bullied even more. Veleno should also stay, he brings that physicality and speed this team needs. He's been Canada's best forward at the WC. Breakout season coming.
We need to get tougher and bigger as a team, this is the opposite.

Deep Draft Philosophy
I get your point, but this makes zero sense for Detroit. We should do the actual opposite, trade up and get players with the highest potential possible. We don't need more 3rd liners - HIGH END TALENT!
I think this would be a good idea for teams with only few picks in the Draft: Leafs, Jets, Penguins.

We need to use the Draft picks to get a better RD. I have hard time believing that's the reason why Hronek was traded. Hronek puts up points, but struggles a lot when the game gets more physical - In the Playoffs you need to reliable.
Seider will probably soon make 8+million, can we pay a 2nd pair RD 6.5+million? Tampa, Rangers and Canucks are the only teams in the league who have two d-mans on the same side making A LOT of money. And they all have problems to get good players for the other side. We just need to find a reliable 2nd pair RD somehow.

Best player should be taken. In 2020 Wings fans said we don't need a RD because we have Seider, Hronek, Lindtröm and Tuomisto. Now RD is one of the biggest needs.
Wallinder-Seider
Edvinsson-Reinbacher could be the best top 4 in the future.

We don't really need Martinez. Edvinsson just had surgery and will be out to start the season but Johansson should get some time at least to start the season.

Signings and trades are not the only thing that makes a team better or worse. Most important thing in a rebuild is the growth from the young guys - They are the future of the team.
