3C upgrade
Norris would be a great addition, no doubt.
However, I cannot see OTT running Jarry/Korpisalo for the next 4 years at just under $10M AAV.
CHI trade seems all over the place, cant really see it.
I feel like Graves only gets moved if we take a similar contract back.
Acciari deal is fine.
Kaliyev deal is fine too, but I am not sure he is the guy I want.

It is the first season Jarry is playing subpar and the first season UPL is playing well. Making this deal gives them two goalies who can compete, and it allows the org to keep Levi in the AHL for a year or two to develop.

I saw some Canes post where people were saying that they wouldnt mind KK gone. It frees up cap long-term for the Canes. They get a Teuvo replacement and can run Aho, Drury, Kuzy & Staal as their C core.

Offseason
Tried that BUF deal. Jarry's 4 years might be a little too long for BUF.
I could see Acciari moved, but not for a 3rd, and not to Boston.
Rakell and Graves are very unlikely to move this summer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>That Ned contract is Brutal. There is no way.
Ned walks in FA, Bloom backs up Jarry next year is the most likely situation. When he out plays him, Jarry will be moved out like MAF was.
With the backup for the next year in wbs.
As for the FL trade, anything to get POJ off this team. He sucks. He belongs in the AHL.</div></div>
I was going for a Husso comparable. Has a decent season and gets rewarded with a 3-year deal. Ned has been starting ahead of Jarry, so I wouldnt be totally shocked to see this be the route, but I definitely could just see us keeping Jarry.
POJ is so hit or miss, but I just dont see him having a long career here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUF10</b></div><div>Sabres don’t need Jarry, Acciari wouldn’t be a bad idea.</div></div>
UPL has been a lot better, but I was just curious if maybe the Sabres would want to give Levi some time in the AHL. Samuelsson is making a lot, and feel like he has underperformed his contract so far. I also think that the Byram acquisition has made him a little expandable, so cap wise it made sense, but I could see BUF rolling with UPL/Levi.

I guess, but its now or never before that NMC kicks in. Smith allows you to not bring back Arvidsson, and you get a good starter while the team is trying to win now.

Possibly, but Idk if we still have place for him. I see us going after a big boy on the LW to play with Sid, and then have Bunting 2LW and O'Connor 3LW.

I agree the current package isnt worth a 1st, but we also know very well in Toronto that Dubas likes flipping 1sts.</div></div>
For me, Idk. I would consider moving our current 1st (which will probs be like 8-10) for someone like Keller or Zegras and then giving SJ our 25 1st. I like Robertson, but I dont think he is enough to warrant a high 1st.

With Acciari and Eller signed past this season, I cannot see us wanting Kampf. I also think although Steeves and Niemela look good, I cannot justify moving our first when we might be a weak team again if it isnt for someone proven in the NHL.

MTL willing likely be getting FLA's 1st based on the conditions, so I doubt CGY would wanna send us their 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jamnjon</b></div><div>You can move conditional picks as long as you have the appropriate condition in the trade. For instance, look at the Rangers trade for Wennberg. They sent back, among other things, a conditional pick. The pick was Dallas' 2025 4th round pick and it would upgrade to Dallas' 2025 3rd round pick if Nils Lundkvist scored 55 cumulative points in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The reason it included the condition is because they acquired the pick from Dallas with those same conditions, so they wouldn't own the pick until this season ends for the outcome to be official (it's all but definitive that it'll be the 4th rounder...Lundkvist has 31 combined points in 106 games so he'd need to suddenly start scoring at over a point per game pace from scoring at a roughly a point every 3 games pace this year and a point every 4 game pace last year).</div></div>
Yeah for sure, you are right. I just dont know if CGY is willing to risk potentially moving a high pick.

Hard to see CGY doing that. They move up a bunch, but I doubt they wanna risk not having any 2025 1sts a year ahead. That FLA pick is also in the conditions of the Monahan MTL trade, so not sure they can move it.
Rakell seems like a tough move this summer.
Eller trade seems fine.
Moving MP28 makes us weaker, I dont see the point.
Take out the 3rd for Holl.

When I check next szn with a projected cap of 87,675,000, I got $21.3M to re-sign Jake, Marchessault, a depth winger (Amadio, Dorofeyev, etc) and a number 6 dman (unless they want Bjornfot there, could be Korczak). Lets say Jake takes 9 and Marchessault takes 7, that is still $5.3M to fill up the squad. This also already includes 3 scratches.

I actually VGK would be able to sign Jake, especially if Whitecloud is in this deal. Martinez is coming off the books as well, so that is an extra $5M+. They already have a solid top 4 with Pietrangelo, McNabb, Theodore & Hague. Guentzel and Marchessault can definitely be afforded, Stephenson probably walks.

Hard to see Jake taking 4-5 years. This is his last big paycheck, he will wanna cash out. I really do think trading him is the best option, as much as it may suck. If you manage to trade Smith and Rakell/Rust, I think keeping him becomes more viable.

Yeah, that is fair. I just sent Eller because RyJo also has the extra year, so I thought the swap made sense. At least you get a C back as well. Maybe it can be Acciari or Carter instread.

Barrie is in this deal purely for cap. I would not re-sign him. It is more to give the Predators a top 6 forward for a relatively cheap cost, while we clear cap and get a young forward who could use a fresh start. POJ is added to equal out contracts.
