I think it's more just the article is a mess, all due respect to Peng.
But if Nemec is a "A-B tweener", that would imply that Nemec+1st wouldn't get it done... which is just absurd. If I posted an ACGM of that trade on here I'd get torn to shreds. I don't think him and his source(s) are sifting through all their notes on other team's prospects while they're answering some random users questions.

Hi Sheng, would you view Nemic as an A-prospect? I would want Hughes more than Nemic but given who Luke’s brother is on that team I don’t think they’re going to give him up. https://sanjosehockeynow.com/san-jose-sharks-timo-meier-trade-return/

He’s a B, along with Holtz. FWIW I actually asked three different NHL sources, about my Grade-A and B evaluations</div></div>
Fair enough, I see the comments now, thanks.
And to that I'd only question the logic of why Holtz and Othmann are considered to be on the same level. Maybe him and/or his source are just weirdly high on Othmann, but who knows.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>poeticentropy</b></div><div>I dunno if Holtz actually is or not but according to the reporter's sources they considered Muk and Holtz B not A, which has context to the reported ask of 1st+ 1 A or 2 B. I am just saying that if people are citing this article for a source of what SJ wants, they need to include what the writer says their source values for those prospects and not interject their own ranking. This ACGM is posting the ask from that article which is why I'm responding with this info</div></div>
I don't see Muk or Holtz mentioned at all. Just that Luke Hughes is "a definite Grade-A." (no sh*t)
He mentions Brennan Othmann as a Grade-B, who is an under performing 20 year old in the OHL with 1st round pedigree. And if that's the case, you guys can go ahead and swap Holtz for Stillman.
But I don't think how the "Grade-A" or "Grade-B" tags are evaluated in the article are based on the source, I think they're just based on how Peng evaluates them. And they're done rather poorly, like as if they were done by somebody who just reports on the Sharks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>poeticentropy</b></div><div>Unless they consider those guys C prospects. Based on the "sources" Peng talked to, they had a high bar for what was considered A. They even said Nemec was a "A/B tweener" which is pretty nuts but yeah. They considered someone like Luke Hughes as a A prospect. It could easily be all BS</div></div>
Yeah, you're not bringing much credibility to it by mentioning how that reporter brought up Luke Hughes.
My point is that I'd personally put Gritsyuk, Clarke, Muk and Casey in the same tier and Holtz is a better prospect than all of them. Just getting tired of all these ACGMs going the same way:
"Holtz isn't a Grade A prospect'
"Then switch him with another good prospect'
"...But we want Holtz"

I mean, that's fine. But if Holtz is considered a B prospect by Grier, then Fitz might as well send an actual B prospect instead of Holtz. Like Gritsyuk or Clarke.
The only reason Holtz is so involved in these trades is because he's seen as a top prospect. If Grier doesn't view him as that, then we've got PLENTLY of other B-tier prospects that have a lot less potential than Holtz.

Very unlikely that Bryson would even make the lineup. I don't know what this ACGM is supposed to be.
Wood can probably be had for next to nothing if he doesn't pick it up after the all-star break. Tatar isn't getting traded for nothing though.

You'd lose Bunting for sure.
Also doubtful anybody would take Murray. He's obviously playing well, but he's still a huge injury concern and teams aren't going to do a team a favour if they NEED to move a guy.

Devils probably add, but there's too many "if"s to really evaluate it.
If DeBrincat is available, he might be like NJ's 3rd or 4th option if nothing else pans out.
Depends on what DeBrincat is willing to sign for
Depends on what Severson is willing to sign forr

"“Little bit different there,” MacKinnon said. “Was rookie of the year last year in the KHL, smaller, skilled player. The thinking right now is that it can really benefit him, as a scoring forward, to continue to mature over there. Maybe spend another year or two. And we’ve seen that with guys like Kirill Kaprizov and Andrei Kuzmenkov. For that type of player, sometimes it’s better for them to mature, then step right into your NHL roster. Probably not coming over right away.”"

It doesn't seem out of the question to me.
Fitz has kicked tires on VT before, he's looking to add a top-6 winger and I'm sure he'd like to add that experience like he did with Palat.
I would assume Meier is his top choice, but if he likes the value on getting VT (and he comes with an extension of course), then I think he'd be interested.

Prospect rankings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Elias26</b></div><div>good stuff
When it comes to Holtz I think his skating has become adequate, besides his great shot he also has underrated playmaking ability but
he just looks absolutely lost when he is in his own zone and cant seem to win a boardbattle in the offensive zone.
Thats why I would not agree on him having good hockey IQ, because thats what seems to me is what is keeping him out of the lineup..</div></div>
Holtz just looks really uncomfortable in Ruff's system. When Ruff talks about his "speed", I think he's more referring to him slowing down play with his slow decision making and such, rather than his literal foot speed. He seems about as fast as guys like Haula and Tatar who Ruff loves, but they play well in his system.
As for the prospect rankings, I'd put Clarke in B and move Gritsyuk down to B. Gritsyuk may be one of the better forwards in the pool, but him likely re-signing in the KHL for another season or two probably makes him a bit of a long-shot to play NHL games.
Casey is a real boom-or-bust for me. 5'9" defencemen that plays like a Rover is a fun player to watch and was definitely worth the pick at #46, but it's going to be a hard game to make work in the NHL. Also, that game he played as the 1C was against a bunch of highschoolers in an exhibition game, not really anything relevant.

I've watched a dozen or so SC Broncos games since he impressed in camp and I love him game.
