EK is a 1st+. Getting us to take on Anderson's abysmal contract is probably also a 1st+. You know Hextall was fired a while ago, right?</div></div>
Pittsburgh needs probably 8 NHL players. Anderson will be back to 20 goals next year and 10 million for Karlsson is lead boots to a team with Letang, Crosby and Malkin.

Briere just said 2 days ago they aren’t looking to splash in free agent or trade away picks 😂</div></div>
We will see..Philli doesn't have the best rep in that department. The flyers rebuilding would be a lot of fun on here :)

DuBois is expensive. My guess is LA would prefer to not have him and allocate his salary to another player if they could do it over again.
The fact that we are talking about DuBois having a better year than Hayton or Johansson at 8.5m is the issue as opposed to the player.</div></div>
Swayman was not meant to be in the cancer list...actually just a great player pick up

I know that Vejmelka and pick 49 aren't exactly garbage, but DuBois had a better year than Barrett Hayton (pro-rated) or Ryan Johansen (with Colorado).</div></div>
Dubois might not be garbage but he is expensive....I would like to point out to everyone...this was a fun fantasy involving a team with cap space getting the top so-called "best team cancers" on one team and getting some futures to get them. Of course no team would trade for more than one of these vets..I would not take any of those guys at the price I proposed.

If they rebuild no. If they have a FA plan that management likes yes. I have no idea, no one does. What do you think is better for the Flyers? Rebuild fully or go for it. I don't know what I would do but I do like a lot of what Phili can do with different veterans but with that said, I can see them go through the draft. Then I would let the contracts expire and just wait a few more years to get playoff ready.

Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Anderson vs. Laine isn't even the crux of the argument. Jiricek has 1st-pair potential, and is the only RD in the system like that. If that pick is 6OA, the only RD with similar potential in this draft (Levshunov) is already gone. Honestly I don't think Columbus could trade him for 6OA straight up.
So the rest is Barron and Harris to dump Anderson. Anderson isn't waiving his NTC to go back to Columbus, which given how he left, is definitely one of his 5-8 teams depending on when the trade is proposed. Barron and Harris isn't enough to dump him, they're redundant and not an improvement on the plethora of D we already have.
And then you want us to add Laine, who aside from this year where he was taken out by headhunting and a slewfoot, has been near ppg for Columbus and is a previous 40-goal scorer. On a team with no cap crunch, no desire to move him, and a severe lack of star players.
I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but come on...this isn't it.</div></div>
I have heard this, hopefully Jiricek is worthy of the #6 pick...I wish him well and would take a chance even giving up a 5 or 6 pick a few years later to get him. Not that this question diminishes him, but if he shot left instead of right...what would you really think of his game?

both might need a change...or retirement if you want to be super negative. Neither guy moves a needle on a good team. Do you want to pay 18 mill for 2 years of meh or 3 years of 15 mill for physical meh?

This website is a fairly good tool to look into players .
Here you can find out that laine is 3 years younger , has significantly better stats , and is built much larger than Anderson . And by significantly better stats …. Laine has double the ppg than Anderson. It’s not even remotely close</div></div>
Oh, so you can agree that Laine is extremely over-paid, useless outside of PP time and even though big, he has a FRACTION of Anderson's hits. Actual money owed at this point is less for Anderson, Anderson is a power forward and not a "scorer". Few teams have the cap to roll the dice on Laine at this point. I could care less if Montreal gets Laine, it is a huge gamble to get a guy paid 9 million and can only get 15 minutes of ice time in Columbus

Our cap situation precludes us from exchanging a youngster coming out of his ELC for a 33-year-old bottom-6 forward with a $2 million cap hit. We'd rather spend up to $2.5 million for up to four years on the younger and far more familiar Blake Lizotte if we can.</div></div>
He is pushing 30 and has not played 400 games yet. If he gets that $$, he will be on a constant trade bait board until he gets bought out. Pittsburgh can pay another borderline top 4/5th defensemen what I offered Roy. He is an NHL defenseman but with that said he is just a guy, not a game changer to argue 4.5 VS 5 million. Change the name for all I care, not going to lose sleep thinking Matt Roy is the final piece to get another cup.
