I think the Ducks would have to retain 50% or take back a bad multi-year deal to trade Fowler and get a worth while return. The same probably goes for Gibson if you want to maximize value.

That wouldn’t be enough to get Dobson imo. If they made him available, and I don’t think they will, then they will want a Seth Jones level return. Preferably from a team that thinks they are ready to take the next step regardless of the fact they aren’t.

Off-Season To-Do List
1. Hire David Carle, who has shown that he can maximize the production of Junior and Collegiate prospects while also winning games.
2. Acquire an elite, right shot defenseman to anchor the top four with Byram, Dahlin and Power.
3. Explore trading Jeff Skinner with significant retention (35-50%) in order to free up some minutes for young forward prospects.

I’d be down with bringing in Dubois so long as the Isles also bring back the fisherman jersey. If this is going to be a cluster**** then at least do it right. 🤣

I am not a fan of that particular strategy tbh and I can’t remember many deals like it tbh. Closest I can think of is when Garth Snow traded Michael Grabner for half the leafs farm team and some guy named Carter Verhaeghe. 🤣🤣🤣

Carolina gave up multiple b level prospects to avoid giving up a top option. You never see that happen. Absolute master class by Don Waddel.

savard traded this year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>Thats fine i get wanting to invest in young talent and if you dont got need for depth for a playoff run i get it, we didnt spend in 2021 when we didnt believe we were SCF team either
We said let the young guys step up and boy did the..... not step up really at all outside Suzuki and Caufield. Actually Eric Staal playing a Mony role was a huge part of us getting to a SCF
I mean at the time i ****es as i think it was a 2nd and a 4th for someone struggling so bad. But it worked out in the end as Schiefele tried murdering Evans and that was when Staal was most valuable
That Said , hearing some say he "regressed " because MSL took him from 3rd line Center to Top line RW to 2nd line LW to 2nd line Center to 3rd line RW to now 2nd line LW
That's 100% on Marty and Marty alone , he owned that saying he had to do what he had to do
That his focus 100% was on Slaf and finding away to make it work when people were calling for him to go to the AHL
It worked to
Mony looks a big worse for ware as he was hung out to Dry by MSL but Slaf looks stronger then he actually is to the point the media went from bashing him 3 weeks ago to riding his jock .
Downside to having 4/4 NHL Coaches with no real experience is guys always get hung out to dry in their learning curve
Mony because he clicks with everyone even if not offensively at first was used to put out fires each time MSL hit the Blender button on our lines
If not for Mony we're losing like 6-2 ,8-5 and by ridiculous amounts
Not hitting the OT getting the extra point and helping extend the Legend of Caufield who with 2 more OT Goals in a year beats Chucky's rune in 2014-15 i believe , but i digress
Say you dont need him
Say you only know how to base value on points alone
Say anything but Regressed as Mony has never done that in a MTL Jersey
Its why Fans are saying dump everyone but re-sign Mony with 3-4 years term
He's consistent and Balances the team keeping our young guns humble while they convince him to be less serious.
Its a nice Dynamic and why we'd rather trade him to a SCF contender like NYR or VGK or a FLA where they wouldnt want to re-sign him but could win a cup with him</div></div>
Regressing to the mean doesn’t mean he’s bad, just means he’s coming back down to earth.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>He's got 3 points in 5 games averaging 18-19 minutes with a GWG
He's not 13 points in 15 games no and when MSL shuffled his lines nightly for 10 games to find a combo that benefited Slaf without screwing the team
Sure his offense dried up completely but his Faceoffs didnt , his minutes didnt , his shots kinda did though
That said since he found Evan-Anderson they've all been playing better , josh even had them serve him up an empty netter for him lol
Issue is we took apart our best like Productively in Pearson -Mony-Gally to watch Slaf mimic Anderson in the top 6(great chances few results for himself)
Mony was never the issue , never changed his play but if you have a blender of linemates and struggle but produce when you got regular linemates
Well thats 100% on the Coach alone in my books</div></div>
I was looking at Monahan’s last fifteen, not his last five. He regressed back to the mean, that’s all. Real issue is isles don’t need another center rn. In fact their forwards lines have looked good now that Gauthier and Fasching r always in the lineup. Those two keep the puck moving the right way, and I don’t see any reason to mess with that if they keep winning.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheReelChuckFletcher</b></div><div>They piled 45 shots on the Isles, successfully potted 4 goals, and still barely eked out a point in the standings. That suggests that the issue isn't the rest of the roster but rather bad goaltending. Canes are compiling the cap space necessary to make a huge goalie move at the deadline. They won't need to trade Necas or Orlov to make it happen.</div></div>
I’m not suggesting they would make this deal, but I was just throwing it out there. Something like Geekie, Grzelyck and Ullmark for Kochetkov, Necas and Orlov. I was just spitballing though :)

If I worked in that Bruins front office I would ask for Pytor Kochetkov + Martin Necas. I’d probably be willing to take Dmitry “Bobby” Orlov back with some sort of retention as well.

Lee hasnt been good to start but hes been super unlucky. Im confident we will be able to get a bit more with 3.5 mil retention by the summer.
Both players are good wingers teams contending will want, just not at their current AAVs. But both of them making 3-4 mil or so is a steal, especially with lee for 2 years</div></div>
Lee’s game away from the puck has been a significant issue since he was resigned in 2019 imo. He lacks the foot speed to win races against this next wave of talent that has taken the league by storm. Palmieri has decent straight line speed, but isn’t elite in terms of his edge work. I think you would be luck to give Lee away (Like Ryan Johansen) and with KP you probably can’t trade him until next years deadline due to his injury history/age.

Tbh I think you are overvaluing Lee while underrating Palmieri. Lee’s finishing ability has faded with age. His shooting percentage is at 6.3% on the campaign with his TOI dropping considerably over the last ten contests. Palmieri is shooting 7.9% so far, but that is because he has always been a streaky scorer. And when he isn’t productive, it’s normally due to his health.

We see a lot of defenseman find their stride in their late 20’s. Zadarov is one of those guys who was viewed as having a negative hockey IQ. You could argue Mike Matheson is the same way. I know lightning fans who didn’t/don’t like Sergachev!!! #28 isn’t the issue on the isles blue line imo. Biggest issue is health followed by covering for Anders Lee. Hopefully Lee can bounce back given his incredibly low shooting percentage.

Zadarov is the type of defenseman you bring in to help bring Romanov along. Also you can’t count on Pelech’s health in the long term based on his recent history. Same goes for Mayfield and Pulock.

Canucks would be better off trying to trade Beau and Myers with full retention than dumping Garland with partial retention imo. CBJ has two righty d man with depreciating value sitting in the press box rn…. Maybe there’s a deal to be made there. Dvorak could also be of interest to the Canucks in a trade involving Beau.

I don’t believe Vrana has that much trade value due to his injury history and recent stint in the player assistance program. I like the idea of acquiring Hanifin, but I don’t c the isles trading Romanov given Pelech’s recent injury history. A deal built around Bolduc, Wally and a first MAY get the deal done, but I’m not even confident in that tbh.
