I like this. Bottom six is nightmare fuel for the opposing team especially.

What the Hell did the Flyers even think they could get for JVR? If they thought he was even worth a third they are on some ****.

Rob Blake ice cold, but honestly props for getting out from under Quick's albatross contract.

Nice deal. 4mil seems like a tad rich, but the market in FA is gonna be ridiculous coming up. Better to get this done now, and I'm glad it was him and not Gus, tbqh.

(TOR/WSH) - Sandin for Gustafsson, 1st (BOS)
MacLellan-sama, I kneel...
In all seriousness I said fair deal. Leafs get a body and a pick to flip, which they seem to have just done. It was, more than likely, going to be a 32nd overall anyway so not much sleep being lost over that.
Caps get a promising young defender who is under team control going into next season on a nice deal and an RFA afterwards. Also interestingly, similar measurables to Orlov, makes ya think.
Also for far less than the reported asking price of Chychrun, with Sandin being younger and cheaper.
Edit: they used a 3rd on Schenn, not the 1st seems. I really need to learn to read. Still, means they will probably still flip it.

Fair. He'll help the Wild's third line and can play higher in a pinch. Caps get a 3rd, which is more than I expected.

(BOS/WSH) - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Smith for Hathaway, Orlov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>Missing that empty net last year in game 4 when the Caps were up in the series and game with the goalie pulled, I feel, sunk them. Hathaway was absolutely driving the Panthers stars insane. I think he will be on a mission this year after that blunder. I agree, he will be a handful for anybody. Josh Anderson, Armia and Perry drove the Leafs crazy in 2021. It was Nick Paul and Perry last year.</div></div>
That game 4 crushed my soul more than any playoff loss to the Penguins or Rangers did, I'll say it without a hint of joking. They win that game they win that series against a team they were more than capable of beating. Instead they completely unravel.

Colorado Avalanche signed Nathan MacKinnon (8 Years / $12,600,000 AAV)
Love seeing people complain "b-but it's not team friendly..." when he's taken paycuts before and now wants what he's worth. Like people are conditioned to expect players to take less money every time like Marchand and Bergeron, while ignoring context of those situations.
It's Nathan MacKinnon. It's worth it, especially with the cap jumping up in a few years. He can be great for the majority of this contract, barring wild injury.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nathaniel</b></div><div>IMO, he shouldve retired a Bruin. He was a staple in Boston for so long, wearing the C and hoisting the cup. No one will remember Chara as a cap, no one will rememeber Jumbo as a leaf / panther. No one will remember Marleau as a penguin.</div></div>
I remember Chara as a Cap. I have his jersey tee to prove it lol. But I know what you mean. It just wasn't right seeing him in the Caps uni, he should have gone out a Bruin.

East and it isn't close. Most of the teams actually trying are in the east.

It isn't that bad, the issue is the eastern conference looks like it's gearing up to be WW3 this season. They need to tread water and stay in the hunt until Brad, McAvoy, and Grzelcyk get back from injury. When those guys are back it'll be stronger.

Oh, and Eller + a 2nd is nowhere near enough even as a rental price</div></div>
So, no. That's a bad trade, hard pass.

Was about to say.
I might do Eller + a 2nd, but even that seems like a lot for a guy who will most likely go to market after the season. It's not like they need more help in the top six, I'd rather look to shore up the D if needed.
