Somebody tell me how Okposo's performance bonus for winning Stanley cup works, who pays that now? (in case FLA wins it)

Anaheim Ducks signed Jamie Drysdale (3 Years / $2,300,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Counterpoint. Norris tried to come back from injury too early and now is suffering complications. A torn muscle isn't something to rush and is something the Anaheim medical staff recently delt with in Max Jones.</div></div>
Not the point.
His agent should have told him about this:
"However, what he didn't know (and more importantly wasn't told by Verbeek) was that since he played only 8 games last season and not 10, he doesn't qualify as a full-fledged RFA, but rather as a 10.2(c) player that is ineligible for offer sheets. Had he come back and played in the last two games of the season in April, he would have received the full RFA status."

Thread:
Anaheim Ducks signed Jamie Drysdale (3 Years / $2,300,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Elliotte Friedman was on NHL radio a few days ago with an interesting take on the Jamie Drysdale situation in Anaheim.
Apparently Drysdale thought he was ready to go at the end of last season. The recovery from his injury was projected to be 4-6 months. Professional athletes generally come in on the lower end of that time frame since they're in such great physical shape. However, Verbeek told him that they were going to err on the side of caution and take the entire 6 months since the season was meaningless anyway. Drysdale was fine with it at the time.
However, what he didn't know (and more importantly wasn't told by Verbeek) was that since he played only 8 games last season and not 10, he doesn't qualify as a full-fledged RFA, but rather as a 10.2(c) player that is ineligible for offer sheets. Had he come back and played in the last two games of the season in April, he would have received the full RFA status.
Supposedly Drysdale wanted a 1-year small money "prove it" deal so he could ask for a bigger payday next season when the cap increases substantially and he had his full Group 2 RFA status. The Ducks used his limited 10.2(c) status against him in negotiations by not even putting a one-year deal on the table, and Drysdale (and other players) are apparently not very happy about it.</div></div>
If true, then Jamie should be "not very happy about" his agent.

His one way contract of $1,133,333 is buried in minors and therefore $1,125,000 (which is the maximum) is relieved from original sum = $8,333

Good thing about CapFriendly is that you can clink on CBA FAQ in top bar and search UFA. Voilà now you now why.

If he were to come off LTIR then they would be even more over the cap with his 7,857,143 salary... three guys on injured reserve and another big ticket will have to be put on LTIR or a move will have to happen quickly.
Can't put a guy on LTIR already on LTIR...</div></div>
Not true. CapFriendly has him listed on LTIR because he will go there, but technically LTIR is not active in offseason. Do the math and summarize individually players F,D,G,INJ and Weber and you will end up with $88,294,643 and that is PROJECTED CAP HIT listed on top.

New Jersey Devils signed Vitek Vanecek (3 Years / $3,400,000 AAV)
Good for VV. Hope he pans out. Vanecek had leverage because NJ traded for him + he filed for arbitration, that's why he got much more than Samsonov. Plus maybe there is a bit negative sight on Samsonov's problems being compliant with covid protocols in 20-21 season, he was sidelined a lot.
