<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMs</b></div><div>Why Seattle pick Oshie ? Is contract is bad</div></div>
Born and raised in the state of Washington, so if they want a local player for team captain, maybe it could be Oshie. Depending on Capitals' protection list, of course.

Suggestions Megathread
When doing ACGM teams for the 2021-22 season (and beyond), it would be great to have Seattle as a team to "Trade with".

Fischer on the first line? Suppose it makes sense if they want to give Hayton a decent linemate and have offense spread over three lines instead of two. Guess his size and hitting is a factor in combination with Garland, but still...

Indeed. Ducks could use a back-up if Miller doesn't re-sign, or will they actually go with Stolarz behind Gibson?

No.
It's an <strong>excellent</strong> value-for-money signing.

Wow, three RHDs to sign for Capitals in the off-season. I might have expected one or two, but three!?

Okay......I expected Capitals to go after one RHD this off-season, but I certainly didn't expect both of Schultz and van Riemsdyk.

Guess Schilling can be seen as a replacement for Bobby Nardella, who's on loan to SHL (Djurgården) for the remainder of the season.

Taylor Hall and Loaded Offense
Can't see Sharks accepting that and personally, I wouldn't go for Hall. Especially not for a 2-year deal. Next off-season will be a nightmare as it is, with Ovechkin, Vrana and Samsonov needing new contracts and no depth skaters' contracts expiring to be replaced by younger and cheaper options.

A bit of retooling
Nice to see someone thinking about a Wild move. Kuzy for a top four D-men and one of their two first round picks is the base of it. Unless Wild choose to keep 8 skaters instead of 3D/7F in the Expansion draft, they need to make a deal so they'll not lose one of the top four defensemen for nothing. Also, from the Wild POV, Kuzy will be good for his countrymen Kaprizov as he enters the league. As a Caps fan, I'm fine with Dubnyk as an experienced back-up for maximum of one season, giving Vanecek more seasoning for a while. (Though Vanecek's one-way part of the contract kicks in next season.)

Trade with NSH to get 23 man roster
The development of Samsonov and Vanecek is the most crucial part of it all, because it will determine if Holtby has leverage when negotiating a new contract. If Samsonov/Vanecek isn't ready just yet, cap needs to be shedded somewhere else in the roster.

Because he's still a good-enough asset, or because of sentimental reasons?

Thank you for an in-depth view!
At a quick glance, I haven't seen stats that would put Lias in the NHL, but it may also be my mind telling me not to give too much bias to my fellow countrymen. :D

I figure Morrissey and Byfuglien will anchor one pairing each, so Niku on LD1 and Beaulieu on third pair?
To me, if you call Morrissey/X or X/Byfuglien the first or second pairing doesn't make much difference. Though it will be Morrissey's blueline in the long run...

Sorry, in the description, I should have added that I only listed them as 1 year contracts for the purpose of predicting the roster. I assume there will be at least one bridge and long-term deal, if not two long-term deals (if you can shed some cap space).

The talent pool is deep at defense, with four rookies (with you mentioning Coghlan) all challenging for NHL duty. Fascinating!
Thank you very much for your detailed view! Much appreciated.

Thank you! Well, living in Europe, I still might not watch as much as I would like. Weekdays are obviously impossible, unless holiday in the US and watching a matinee game. I try to watch Capitals once either Friday or Saturday night and then matinee games on Saturday and Sunday, whatever teams there may be.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Max27</b></div><div>Is Dickinson better than Janmark?</div></div>
Maybe not, but I seem to remember Dickinson and Hintz having good chemistry in the playoffs, albeit with Zuccarello (and it will have to be Pavelski now). That's why I put Dickinson over Janmark.
