I don't think that this season we will be so low in the table that we will regret this 1st. The team is counting on the playoffs

Definitely Yes! over the past 5 years, Washington has chosen McMichael and Lapierre in the first round, and now tell me, would they be worth exchanging for the 1st? of course not, but Alexis is already a ready player for the TOP 9 and possibly the TOP 6

Does this make sense
there is logic in your words, but to supplement it with the 1st is robbery. If Washington needed Couture, he would simply exchange his draft picks, since this asset may be interesting not as a replacement for the leader, but as an addition to the leaders of the Caps. And you underestimate too much what Kuznetsov gives.

this is just a terrible deal for Washington. The 1st one should be from Sharks, not from Washington, and even then this deal will be very doubtful for us for Caps

and why do you think that you should definitely get an equivalent asset for Willy? Can his potential contract be considered attractive? I think not. Therefore, do not expect to get a lot for it. Also, Kuemper is better than Samsonov.

your offer only works if Calgary trades from a position of strength, but given the high risks with the extension of contracts with Hanifin and Lindholm, the Caps offer is not bad and at least gives Calgary more players for the TOP 6

Not only this is major overpay for a goalie but it also doesn't make sense
Forsberg is a pretty solid goalie and he's back to being healthy. No intention in moving him
Korpisalo had his hip surgery in March 2022 and was quite good last season. If he is the goalie he has shown last year, goaltending could actually be a strength for Ottawa
Plus they have Sogaard and Merilainen developing (+ Mandolese and Reidler)
They need Pinto wayyy more than Swayman.</div></div>
Are you sure you're still waiting for the signing of Pinto? #Vlady89

you are driven by emotions and attachment. 4 players with a salary of 10M or more will not allow you to create lineup depth, which means the Leafs limit will be 1st or 2nd rounds.

Lets do it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>a) trade Nylander to one of many teams that would put up a better offer than this garbage
b) trade/LTIR/buyout Murray and then trade one of Jarnkrok, Brodie, Lafferty to balance the cap
Why haven't they done these things yet?
1) They only found out the Samsonov number from arbitration literally yesterday
2) They are in no rush to move these players that teams would have a desire for, the season starts over 2.5 months.
3) You have no idea what they might be working on behind the scenes.
This is a laughable offer for Nylander and you seem to think the Leafs' backs are up against the wall far more than they are. When you're moving a star, 40g+ 80pt+ star on an affordable contract, you'll always have enough suitors that you won't have to take such a garbage offer.</div></div>
I agree, all this can be done, but is there much logic in this, when year after year the Leafs in the playoffs lack exactly the likes of Jarnkrok, Brodie, Lafferty. And we must not forget that leaving Nylander will have to give him a new contract for 10M per year. Do you really think that this will help the team to take the Cup?
As for Protas and Alekseev, they are ready players for the bottom lanes with good prospects.

Okay, I'll give you the example of Patrick Roy, when he left Montreal, he was 30 and his statistics were getting worse and worse, but as soon as he came to Colorado, everything changed and I think you know what he was able to give them in the end. That's exactly what I expect from Gibson. Of course, I would like Conor, but he is too expensive for the Leafs

Georgiev's stats were bad in the Rangers, and in Colorado much better, the same went for Samsonov, after a bad stitstick in the Caps, a significant improvement in Toronto. Therefore, it is not necessary to judge only by statistics

he plays on a team without defenders, but if you look at all the G who have played 20 games or more in the league, he is the leader among them in Saves (1,721 S), despite the fact that he had 1,912 shots in 51 games (37.49 AV).
Therefore, no, he is not terrible, but his team is terrible.

As for linemates, that is just silly. Like anyone playing with offensively gifted players their points totals will take a boost from playing with them but Gaudreau has only had 1 season where he didn't stand out like a sore thumb defensively. Tkachuk is great along the boards at both ends of the ice but Lindholm absolutely did most of the heavy lifting in their own end that season. Look at Bergeron, he didn't even crack 60 points this year and had 65 last year yet he is widely considered a top 10 center in the entire league.</div></div>
THIS!!! Thanks for mentioning Bergeron! Lindholm finished 2nd in Selke voting 2 years ago and was 10th this season...bonafide 1st line center!!![/quote]
Many times I saw how Kuzy played for himself, instead of just giving Ovi to the free ice. But Backs, on the contrary, took away and gave away, so for the link Ovi Lindholm is what you need
