PIT 14OA should be the target. They desperately need picks and prospects.

Retooling the Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Ooooh yeah that would be a dream. But I can't see FLA letting him go. I read that MTL isn't interested in Carter Hart. When I read that I was like WHY?!?! I think Carter Hart is very much what MTL needs. a goalie who would be part of the rise of the Habs. MTL would have their core forwards, their franchise goalie. now build the D corps and you have something really good there.</div></div>
I wrote this earlier: The kid is broken, 22, born in Darien, CT and played at Boston College (Kent Hughes backyard). KH can promise his parents the Habs would take good care of their kid. Rehabilitation project 2023.
Idk if FLA are willing to move on and the nature of Knight's personal problems, but if I were KH I would test the waters.

The young prospect I wish they go after is Spencer Knight

Retooling the Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>According to the report from the Athletic because MTL isn't a contender the price for PLD would be closer to $9M. But he said for a contending team he would take less.
If im a team like BOS, NYR, COL (contending teams) I would slightly over pay for him. The reason being these are teams that have strong leadership and have stars that can out shine PLD. But PLD is a player that has all the tools to be a 1C. We have seen glimpses of it. But because both markets he has played in he has been "The Guy". Whether that meant being a top 3 draft pick in Columbus and pretty much the only skilled played back when he was there. Or in WPG he was always labelled the guy who we got for Laine (who was loved by the fanbase) So he was always focused on. Which it seems he doesnt like.
I'm actually happy with that report that came out from the Athletic because it gives Chevy more leverage against other teams to actually get a decent return for him. kind of like the Tkachuk situation last year.
What would your thoughts be if the package from MTL be Justin Barron, Anderson, and FLA 2023 1st?</div></div>
We're thin on RHD and Mailloux is a very decent prospect. As for FLA 1st (31/32OA) I wish they package it with 37OA (and more, including prospects) to get a higher 1st round pick -- I'm looking at PIT 14OA.

As I said on another ACGM, I'd let another team acquire him and sign him for 8 x $9m as he's requesting. Then within 2 years he will whine again and Montreal will scoop him at 50% retained for chicken feed.

I wish they let another team offer him 8 x $9m. PLD will whine within 2 years and we'll get him for the remaining 6 years of his contract at 50% retained.
I'm not a fan of overpaying for him. I feel sorry for you guys in Winnipeg. I wish you get what you want for him and that it doesn't come from Montreal. Anything beyond Anderson, CAL 2025 1st and Kidney qualifies as an overpay for me.

With the report coming out saying that PLD would sign for more with a rebuilding team MTL would need to move a bigger salary to make the money work. the only bigger salary pplayers they would be interested in would be Suzuki, Caulfield, Dach. Unless MTL would be willing to trade for example Anderson along with #5 overall.</div></div>

Dubois to SJ and Signing Varlamov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonh514</b></div><div>Not in my mind, but someone will make a mistake.</div></div>
I was just raising a question btw, not pointing a finger at you bro. I don't think a team should overpay to acquire him and offer him a 8-year golden bridge. He has a good potential but at almost 25 he still has to prove his value in the league. And the whining in CLB and WIN is a yellow flag as well.

Carter Hart Deal Analysis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeROFLCOPTER</b></div><div>2 good years of Bobrovsky isn't that big of a selling point, giving a team 2 years to "figure out" how to mend a trade probably means that the trade itself is biased towards the other team, unless the trade return is handsome (i.e. Hronek trade).
As for if Knight needs a change of scenery; that's what I think a trade hinges on. Obviously if Knight wants to play for KH then I think FLA should do what's best for the player's mental health.</div></div>
The 2 years of Bob is not the selling point, I agree with you. Having to deal with a broken kid and running the risk to see his trading value plummet in 12-18 months from now is probably the most important argument here.

Carter Hart Deal Analysis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeROFLCOPTER</b></div><div>Think there may be an issue of getting him from Florida if they have even some hope for him.
Bobrovsky is 34 and I doubt they think Lyon is sustainable.</div></div>
Bob still has 2-3 good years in front of him. That's plenty of time for FLA to find an alternative for the 'after Bob'.
The aspect that is hard to gauge is the nature of his problems. Are they related to his environment in Florida? Too much pressure? Problems with the coaching staff? Would a move to a more friendly environment and with a better group of people to support him be beneficial for him as a human being?
I strongly believe KH knows him very well and he probably knows his parents as well. Hockey wise Habs could come up with an interesting deal that helps FLA in the short run.

Beck is close, but Kidney and a 2025 first are too far away. Chevy will get fired before these guys play. Since I am playing the part of Chevy — no deal — I need guys in my lineup now and sooner than 2028.</div></div>
It's a pretty solid offer. You have a guy who will make a difference in the playoffs, a promising young center who can make the team within 2 years and a first round pick for the next cycle. Nothing to be ashamed of if Chevy can get that return under the circumstances.

The Calgary 1st pick has quite of a complex and cryptic condition but I've read somewhere that it would be more of a 2024 pick than a 2025.
Nevertheless it remains a fair deal under the circumstances.
