Flames should keep the pick or move it for something that helps them moving forward. They have a ton of Timmins like players on the back end at this point and have zero need to take another year of his salary on.

ESPN model
They're mixing up Markstrom with prime Lebron in classic ESPN fashion. It's horrid that we have 4 more years of that. I go to Panama in December/January every year and mostly get ESPN+ streams down there, it's unbelievable how bad it it.

I don't mind it at all. Would like if the Flames were to extend Debrusk and have Lysell waiting in the wings for when expiring deals next year like Kuzmenko/Mangiapane possibly Sharangovich are moved I think it's a good trade for Calgary.

As a Flames fan I would definitely tell you not to.. haha. It's all just Tweets that are copied in or something someone heard on the radio, there's one guy who works at a car dealership that Dan Vladar leases his vehicles from that thinks he's an insider now because he knew Vladar was starting a day before the line up came out. People in Canada all want to have a connection that no one else does to the home team, half those guys are just copying the other half leading to everyone being wrong!

Calgary insider says latest NJD offer has no premium assets
Calgary Puck (95%), The Win Column (100%), Flames Nation to a lesser extent are all reactionary garbage with people looking to get attention and clicks. Within the Calgary market unless it's coming from Steinberg, Francis, somewhat Serivalli, Valji, Leslie and a couple others it's just garbage 99% of the time. Flames Twitter is stocked with guy who copy and paste quotes form insiders and consider themselves to be Flames writers. Could be the worst community on the internet.

1st + 2 3rds + Niemela (High B prospect) + Timmins beats out 2nd + 3rd + conditional 3rd (probs wont get) + 5th + B prospect (Artem Grushnikov)
Also how is Nirmala's development middling have u not seen him lul
6 goals 22 assists in first full AHL season so far, is not afraid to hit and is a nice developing 2-way Dman who can QB a PP and play PK</div></div>
All speculation. Neimala is a good player is a really bad pipeline stuck behind really bad D men.

Conroy got offered a first for Tanev but he declined salary was coming back
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Seem to have missed it back in NOV
TOR and CGY were working on a deal for Zadorov and Tanev
A minimum of a 1st + would have went back for both of them with ret. Deal fell apart due to CGY not wanting to ret among some other factors
Few days later CGY trades Zadorov to VAN for a 3rd and 5th (market value) then a few days ago bites and trades Tanev (50% ret) for 2nd + conditional 3rd (probs wont get) and a B level prospect
If they had buckled down and continued working in NOV they could have got a haul for the two but they took market value instead
Like I would say 1st + 2 3rds + Niemela, Timmins would have gone the other way for those two</div></div>
Pretty similar across the board. Timmins is terrible and zero value, Niemela’s development has been middling at best so far and the difference in picks beyond 20 in this draft class is a lottery ticket. For packaging up two guys that Toronto return is minimal.

Completely different type of player that balances the pipeline nicely from a team that’s recently had elite round 2’s of drafts. You trying to say you’ve got a good read on this player that you probably never heard of two days ago is insane.

Did u not see what CGY got for both guys?
TOR could have topped that easily lul
A minimum of a 1st + would have went back for those two per reports back in NOV
In the end CGY got
2nd + 3rd + 5th + B prospect for both (the other third is conditional based on DAL reaching SCF)
Thats pretty bad value for those two</div></div>
So the Leafs would sent the 1st for Tanev because they have no 2nds, Calgary is very very clearly valuing prospects over picks so what’s the pick and the prospect coming back to finish the deal?

Leafs literally don’t have the pieces that they’d part with to make that work. That’s a cope and a half.

The late 1st round of this draft is negligible. They got a prospect that they value that was drafted in the 2nd and a 2nd round pick. There’s zero need for Ceci, you’re countering your own point, he’s better than Gilbert but they’re not going to compete

New New Jersey Price
Calgary's not getting close to that. Hanifin, use the Hampus Lindholm trade, 1st round pick, prospect, maybe a roster guy. Markstrom, the Flames have zero need to trade him so a team will overpay if they do, Holtz for MArkstrom straight across would be ideal.

I see it as straightforward. It’s not quite, “Markstrom wants out” yet, but it needs a course correction before it gets there.</div></div>
Conroy could have handled everything perfectly up to the 11th hour and ownership said no to retention. It's an extraordinarily vague statement.
