i did say i could see the reported trade but i just dont know if hawks will want a second so fat away so i put the first there could also have a pick swap within the trade chicagos second going to leafs kinda like the bickel trade from 2016

Regardless even if CHI wasn't moving DeBrincat, then it would be just a swap with NJ involving Zacha and Kappy, which is quite close. Maybe PIT adds a pick.</div></div>
idk if you read the rumours but they legit came out and said "you have to blow our socks off like the hagel trade" they arent activly trying to move him they will need a massive haul to even consider it teams would easily outbid that offer not often 40 goal scorers are moved

En French-word-for-late pour Bedard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRaphMan</b></div><div>It's also less than what Arizona got for Dvorak, and I think Anderson is the better player. Maybe Chicago isn't the right fit, but they're the only other team with 2 1sts next year, so they're the only team the Habs can guarantee a 1st from even with lottery protection.</div></div>
Doesn’t matter if it’s less Arizona got or whatever u said anderson is not worth a first to Chicago theyre a rebuilding team so what if they have 2 firsts they need both of em they aren’t handing them out for 40 point players, Chicago hangs up the phone so fast Hughes can’t even finish his sentence that would be horrendous for the hawks with next draft being deep and then hoping Tampa’s cap problems catch up to them

Win Lotto Trade Pick to Chicago
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Teams rarely trade top-10 picks
Teams never trade top-5 picks
Teams NEVER trade 1sts picks
In the cap era, <strong>*only five*</strong> top-10 picks have been moved leading up to draft (not counting pick-for-pick swaps or advanced deals).
#7: 2017
#8: 2011, 2012
#9: 2013, 2021
Zero top-5 picks have been dealt.
(and wingers get traded all the time)</div></div>
most of the time its pick swaps with top 10 pikcs being traded
every top 10 pick moved was for non 40 goal scorers on a RFA contract the only comparable was the phill kessel trade where they sent two first round picks and both were top 10, the hawks have no need to straight up send a for sure superstar for a chance at shane wright panning out. shane wright hasnt produced at a number one overall pick level and missed a whole year so its lowkey risky they would need something to entice them as there no need to move debrincat

Not in this draft id say only cooley, wright and naz are the only ones who have a chance at becoming a star like debrincat maybe last years draft a lottery pick is good but this is a really weak class so a first this year doesnt have a much value as past years

Elliotte Friedman report on DeBrincat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>I feel like it'd be Holtz /or/ the top 5 pick but not both.</div></div>
it would 100% start with holtz and a first debrincat is a 40 goal scorer that is 24 you can rebuild and start competing when hes 28 if you do it properly they have no need to move him unless the package is to good to pass up

Blockbuster movements
this draft is extremely weak wouldnt be surprised if a lot of teams try and trade their pick as after wright, cooley, nemec, naz there really isnt a guarantee or high percentage chance that these guys even become top 6 forwards or top 4 D if hawks move debrincat their gonna want a holtz type prospect one whos shown he has a high chance of producing at the nhl level. as well greig is probably gonna be a third line maybe second line grindy type of player which isnt hard to find yes hes producing in the whl but the whl is a high scoring league his playstyle is effective in the whl but even go look at wjc they played him as a checking forward which is what i believe hell be almost like a brandon hagel. the hawks will want a ransom for debrincat because hes young and RFA there isnt a need to move him. as for JBD he isnt worth a first if he was im sure ottawa wouldve moved him cause he hasnt shown much in the ahl, and formenton is also not worth a first

and what prospect would that be cause i dont see hawks sending fleury to wild (which fleury has stated hell most likely re sign with the team hes traded to) without the wild sending one of orourke lambos or novak if they are not giving up a first

they moved hagel cause the packaged wowed them and they said they need to be wowed by a package for debrincat and yam and barrie dont wow them at all it would probably have to be equivalent of 4 1sts so like holloway bourgault and 2 first round picks
