I don't think Nashville would even trade Askarov for Reinbacher 1 for 1 right now today. Trotz wanted one of the big 4 centers or Michkov

He had a tough game against Edmonton a few weeks ago where he got pulled that is probably still throwing off his numbers. He'll get back to the mean after a few more solid starts. Its only November

The teams that have an equivalent high end piece to give up for him likely wouldn't do it. Why would someone give up a Kent Johnson or Mason McTavish when they are younger and more cost controlled? Cap space means everything right now and Vancouver doesn't have it. Seems unlikely they'd get a big piece like that

Not to mention NSH was 3pts out with CGY ahead and still missing out on the playoffs (and that CGY massively underperformed).
COL, DAL and MIN are divisional locks. Looking at the WC, while WPG maybe steps back, CGY steps forward. NSH is a fringe playoff team, fringe. Far from “competing” and “winning a round or two”.</div></div>
They had the exact same record and number of points as Florida this year, and were an 8 seed when they went to the finals in 2017. You just need to get into the top 16 in todays NHL

ROR won’t have nearly the impact you think he will playing only third line minutes plus Tarasenkos injury history just won’t magically disappear.</div></div>
Duchene/Johansen/Forsberg/Josi all missed like the last 1/4 of the season, which was when they actually started winning games and was after the deadline when Jeannot, Granlund, and Ekholm were shipped as well. People are sleeping on this roster

Who do you want them to take in the draft?</div></div>
If Durzi was part of the equation, it would make Carrier a little bit redundant for sure. I'd like to see more of Livingstone before the decision to move on from Fabbro or Carrier is made.
At least for the first round, I would love to see a center and a defenseman. Ideally a Moore/Heidt and Pellikka/Willander. Wouldn't hate to see Perrault at #24 if he fell though

Great analysis from an outside perspective. The only thing i really disagree with is choosing Carrier as the odd-man out. I think he stays on a longer term deal and Foote doesn't get a QO

Not to mention, he has bounced between wing and center his whole career because of his speed. It doesn't mean he was doing bad, he was just more useful on the wing on a Nashville team that was doing everything it could to develop younger centers this year.
It's OK if you don't want him because he's older or think he doesn't fit the teams window, but you're just spewing BS that you know absolutely nothing about and look like a fool for it

That declining winger who doesn't produce enough offense has more points than any player on the Hurricanes over the last 2 seasons not named Sebastian Aho - even then, he had 142 points compared to 148. Get real

You're definitely in the minority on this.
