Wheeler trades

I dont think the return would be little. If the jets gave up NYR's first, Harkins, Stanley (or other prospects) plus there would be a market for Wheeler at 4.1 AAV.
But I guess they need to fill that 5000 college stadium with skilled NHLers

I agree. My thought is ARI is a terrible organization that just wants more bites at the apple in the draft. Maybe adding more picks? i dont know

So i have a buddy who has a buddy (sounds dumb but true) who works with TNSE and is close to the locker room and he said Wheeler asked to be moved but to keep it on the DL

I dont mind the Wheeler deal. Jets get value for Wheeler and retention
Plus Wheeler with Maurice might spark him

I wonder if a Okposo for Wheeler straight up makes sense? Jets would only have one year of Okposo and maybe Wheeler finds a leadership role in BUF. Just spitballin

Wheeler trades
I've talked about this with my buddies and IMO the best way for the jets to deal him and for Wheeler to get somewhere he wants would be to route him through another team first.
I proposed a deal with Arizona where the jets send Wheeler, either NYR's first or a one of the jets second rounders, plus one or both of Harkins and Stanley to ARI for Schmaltz.
Then ARI could move him to one of his 5 teams (or more if he approves) and retain half his salary. Ari needs to get to the cap floor
The jets would get a good young C/RW to replace Wheeler

I dont see the jets moving PLD. Im sure the package is of value and getting out from Wheelers deal is a bonus, but the guy should be close to untouchable

I do like the grit you added in FA, but I think Marchment would get more $$$
I think it takes more to get Chychrun out of ARi

You Spin Me Right Round
What I would do is trade 1 or 2 of Dillion, Schmidt, Stanley or Demelo to make room for Heinola, Samberg, Chisholm and Gawanke.
I would hire Trotz
I would deal one or both of Scheifle and Wheeler (preferably Wheeler to create cap space and usher in new leadership)
Sign PLD etc

Plus they make too much money to be botton 6 guys.
Jets would need to create cap space and Van would need to sweeten the pot for the jets helping them out

The idea would be that Arizona would flip him to where he wants to go and retain salary plus get a first. Tough for him to pick and choose where he wants to play when contenders cant take on that salary. Buyout isnt that bad for the jets to be honest

I like the EDM deal for both teams...kinda haha
EDM would like to get out from under Barrie's deal and they need goaltending. Not sure if Allen is the guy, but he isnt a bad option. If I was the oilers i would look to move Jesse P ++ in a deal to get a more proven G, but I dont know who that is

2nd rounder for Foegle seems steep. Jets dont have room for him unless they move on from a big contract then maybe they'd make a trade, but for a 3rd at best

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wpgman</b></div><div>I think the key to the WPG/ARI trade is what you pointed out- what will a team pay for 2 years of Wheeler at roughly 4 mil?
Now you just have to find a way to get rid of Schmidt's contract and replace him with a Top 2 RHD.</div></div>
Do you think that's fair value? Should the jets be adding more? I heard a rumour from a source close to the team that Wheeler has asked out. Not saying I am an insider but the rumour came from someone who works closely with the jets.
also, I wanna see Schmitt get a shot on the top PP
