The Wranglers have 13 full timers that are over 23 years old. The pipeline lacks serious talent and is chalked full of projected middle or bottom 6 players. Any ranking of the farm system is propped up by an insane goalie prospect and the hopes that Coronato translates from college to the pro's. Pelletier, Zary, Coronato, Wolf are solid prospects, outside of that Poirier, Schwindt, maaaayyybbee Peterssen could crack a line up but no one really stands out.

Because the Flames are on the outside looking in, fortunately with a 1st round pick in a historically deep draft while having one of the worst ranked prospect pipe lines in the league and the need for impactful cheap players in the next couple years.

No.. Accari has horrible even strength numbers. Cost to acquire Tarasenko would be better spent elsewhere.

Pelletier fills that spot better than Domi does. I would love to see Huberdeau and Lindholm get going together, would make slotting way easier. Breaking up Mangiapane Backlund Coleman makes zero sense

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canadianape</b></div><div>he had a good season last year. hes having an elite season this year. you are correct if he isnt able to translate that success and overcome his stature then he may be a career ahl player. it only takes a bottom dwelling team to give him a chance and for him to take it for the opposite to happen though. He had a pretty weak training camp as he wasn't put in a position to succeed by the coaching staff who clearly had pre determined the make up of the team prior to camp. we can see this shifting as players like duehr, pelletier, Ruziicka are slowly stealing the pylon veterans spots.
Edit: Despite Sutters complete resistance</div></div>
Pelletier, Ruzicka and Duehr all have a semblance of a 200ft game that earns trust with coaching staff's around the NHL, Phillips in his brief time looked like a powerpaly merchant that couldn't get any separation, Pelletier is averaging nearly 2 minutes less per game than Phillips did but looks significantly more impactful in the small sample size each has gotten. Pelletier's underlying numbers have been off the charts good, Duehr and Ruzicka fill way different roles, I don't think Phillips ever translates.

I bet he never hits 50 NHL games. 32 teams passed on him this season after he had a stud season last year with a sustainable shooting% and a half decent training camp this season he's shooting around 25%. Tons of undersized scorers in the AHL don't translate to the NHL it's been like that for the past handful of years.

Literally 0. He's a UFA at the end of the season he can go play in any AHL organization he wants next season.

Phillips is an absolute zero value player in a trade, Zary and a 1st (which has to be 2023) is a lot for a team on the bubble with no guarantee of re signing Horvat.

Mang gotta go
The Mangiapane contract was ideal at longer term less than 5M per year, his agent did a great job of getting him high dollar and walk to free agency. He probably scored 30 again in his career but I don't think it's during this 2 year deal. Doesn't mean he isn't effective but it's a lot of money for a really really good middle six and good top 6 guy.

Trolls were so wrong on that one, and they keep going, never admitting they were wrong. Still think they're so smart at hockey. Posting the same comments about Edmundson.

Not physical insults. Use your comprehension here... I said you have 5 foot 1, balding, lonely energy. You could be 12 feet tall with as much hair as you like.. Doesn't change the perception you put out there.

Lines vs WSH hopefully
What are your thoughts on:
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Ruzicka
Dube - Kadri - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic/Lewis/Rooney/Ritchie
I think Ruzicka's warts are showing in his game a little but, the inconsistency is starting to show up and his transition game doesn't look great. He gives me a little bit of a Monahan lite impression, every time he has the puck on his stick he wants to shoot, Huberdeau can facilitate that.
No doubt Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman should get a few games together here.

Why would the Oilers pay to dump those guys? Barrie probably has minimal value, JP still has good enough value. Beyond that the Flames trade makes zero sense at all.

Call him up
May even take two top six injuries. We saw last time instead of a call up they just plugged Ruzicka in, not a bad short term band-aid, if there is an extended injury to Toffoli, Mangiapane I could see them bringing a guy up, I think Pelletier, Schwindt, Zary, Zohorna may all have the first call before Phillips though. If either Zhorona or Phillips is called up it's to stay for the season unless they're fine losing one of them to waivers which I believe they would be with Zohorna. It may take an LTIR injury before Phillips gets a call.
