Nothing in for Utah is there. Can't they just sign UFA(s), they have the cap and keep Crouse, Durzi and the pick.

TOR fans are hilarious.

I would look at the BUF-STL trade for a comparable, but even that is a stretch because ROR had 5 years left on a pretty team-friendly contract:

ROR <> Berglund (cap dump) + Sobotka (cap dump) + Tage (just a prospect at the time) + #31 OA + #49 OA

TOR is in a really tough spot with Marner.

The other comparable is Gaudreau. CAL got nothing for him.

TOR will be lucky to get a 1st round pick + something else.

As a BUF fan....question for TOR fans.

why do TOR fans keep trying to dump guys on PIT. They have both Eller and Acciari plus a whole lot of prospects that play center. They aren't taking Kämpf.
Go dump that cap elsewhere.

As for the Utah trade, why would they even waste their time. They aren't a playoff team, Marner doesn't make them one either. They can just wait till next year and get him in FA.
The only way that doesn't happen is if TOR offers him his 12+ mil extension...... good luck with that if they do.

TOR options are to A. not expect a great return. B. pay him and be stuck with that extension or C. let him walk when that contract expires.

A. is probably better than C. and both are better than B.
But at some point TOR fans need to figure that out.
