Hawks probably decline. Peterson costs that 2nd to dump. And doubt the Hawks burn a retention slot to acquire Allison and a LD they don't need.

I don't think there's enough in that offer to take on the last year of petersens contract let alone get Tyler Johnson and more importantly use a retention slot.

Ryan Poehling has 3-4-7 in 27 games at 5v5 compared to Monahan who has 2-6-8 in 32 games. I cannot imagine there is a trade market in which Monahan's powerplay and faceoff usage is worth a 1st rounder, considering he has zero team control and probably wouldn't be on any contending team's top powerplay.

I don't know why anyone pays that much for Monahan, and CHI declines.

Each year it’s the same thing! Lindholm is clearly the best center available. But after him it might very well be Monahan so there a team that will panic and overpay to get him. It’s the same thing each and every season.
