I really want these Marner to CHI trades to stop. It doesn't make sense for anyone, but TOR.

I am honestly not the biggest fan of Korchinski. But, when I think about the investment we have in him and his entirely unexplored upside, I can't imagine CHI even considering moving him without something huge coming back. Huge, as in, a top 10 pick plus. Not an almost 30yo guy with a very expensive contract and even more expensive extension that probably won't be very cost effective, possibly even a negative asset, by the time CHI is ready to be a stanley cup contender again.

With a reasonable extension in place, then the Hawks probably make this trade all day long.

Gotta agree with you on this. I don't see CHI having any long term interest in Marner to begin with, and you don't send out one of your prized prospects for someone who is just passing through, even if you are hoping to get some nice assets back at the deadline.
