Nothing // nothing in that package makes me want to trade Frank Vatrano and that’s before we even get to the retention

Montreal doesn't get a 1st for that package, that's a total homer ask.

You clearly don't understand Kane's value either, he's big, fast, physically imposing and scores ~30 goals a season. Plus he elevates his game in the playoffs. The Oilers aren't trading him for a 3rd.

Overall you've made the defense slower and the forwards softer. Not a recipe for success in the playoffs.

I can imagine investing a fourth in one season of Cody Ceci as a depth move if our efforts to land a top-4 RhD all fail, but we have no interest in the disappointing Bourgault or need for a sixth LD in Broberg, so we'll hang on to our 37-goal scorer, whom we might want to re-sign next summer. Plus the thought of turning him loose with McDavid and Draisaitl and becoming Zach Hyman 2.0 is too frightening to contemplate for very long.

When u say frightning do u mean like that the package will look weak to the pontential with the oilers?

You added a lot of pieces to the Vatrano trade that from a pure value perspective would be enough. Problem is the pieces themselves:

Bourg: Wildly disappointing season. Value/interest would be really low right now
BRob: zero interest. ANA has like 6 NHL ready LHD already, 3 of them 23 or younger
Ceci: We’d take him for like a 5th if and only if we miss completely on a RHD in FA and no better trade options exist
2nd: ‘meh’, it’s a 2nd

If I’m ANA, I’d way rather just keep Vatrano and flip him at the deadline with the hope of a late first in a similar package to Henrique/Carrick this past year
