Retaining $3mil on Skinner essentially makes Brady cost over $11mil per

Plus, Skinner isn’t getting moved

Yeah not sure the Sens have interest in skinner .

I also don’t think it takes this much to get Brady.

My guess is :

Quinn or Peterka
Greenway or Wahlberg
2024 1st or 2025 1st

I like the 10-20 range of the 2025 draft too. It’s not like Buffalo is gonna go to the conference finals

You also have to factor in that Peterka is going to be due a pretty big contract at the end of next year. If he has a similar season to this past year it'd probably be in the 6-7 range

While I dont dislike the players, its more 11OA right now vs ~15OA a year away.

Maybe you go for 2025 if you think the Sens are fully rebuilding as compared to a more higher pressure retool.

So are u changing your mind about Brady being traded then?
Still seems pretty unlikely to me, but obviously you’d have a better sense of what’s going on with Ottawa

Regardless,
1- you’re overpaying to even get Brady
2- plus holding $3mil per of Skinner

It just isn’t a good idea imo

And again, Skinner is NOT getting moved
Sabres fans need to just stop that nonsense
It’s extremely unlikely

It’s not about Brady moving because he’s a problem. I am interested in a 2 year retool for Ottawa. Go crazy for the 2024 and 2025 draft . Fix the prospect pool and then start pushing again with ELCs and more of an identity. And then Sanderson and Stutzle will be ready by age 24

I’m not sure that’s the direction they go in but I like it better for the longterm health of the sens

OTT dont want skinner and BUF would need to overpay by so much to get Brady out of OTT, you know a divisional rival , that it would be pointless for BUF to get brady

Sabres fans really have an obsession with overpaying for guys just because they hit.

I hear ya, & don’t necessarily disagree that it would be a good idea
But i just don’t think the Sens will wanna do that in real life

Any trade sending Tkachuk to Buffalo would involve Peterka, as Ottawa would be obsessed with reuniting him with Stutzle. But the additional pieces they would require to make it worth it for them would be more than he’ll ever be worth. If Buffalo wants to bring in a power forward to add to the core of this team, they’ll spend a lot less just targeting a guy from a western conference team instead.
