For the same reason, I doubt Olofsson or Jokiharju would fit the mold of player that Sutter likes.

I do wonder if Hanifin might become available this summer because of him being a year away from UFA status and likely in line for a $6-7M bump in cap hit.</div></div>

Well based on how the season just ended I doubt he's coming back, and I'm sure the Flames are looking to make some changes in their line up for next season. Plus looking how tight the cap situation looks for next season I doubt that they won't make any big moves this offseason, if it's not Weegar then I'm fine with Hanifan for a similar package.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>I doubt the Sabres dump Lyubushkin - especially if it's for a meaningless 5th rounder - for 3 reasons: 1) Adams won't relish the perception it would send around the league of trading someone only 1 year into a 2 year contract; 2) the Sabres don't have any other physical-style defensemen on the roster or in their system aside from Samuelsson nor any others over age of 24; and 3) Lyubushkin is apparently extremely popular in the lockerroom and with Granato.

Maybe, if the Sabres add other defensemen between now and next year's TDL, then Lyubushkin nearing UFA status gets traded at that time rather than re-signed......</div></div>

Well if you look at this lineup you'll see there is already 7 defenseman on the roster so I don't know what else there is to do with him. Also 1) GMs trade newly acquired guys from the previous offseason all the time. 2) I cannot remember the last Lyubushkin has actually hit someone. Stillman in my eyes fills his roll as a physical defenseman. 3) I'm sure Weegar/Clifton are just as good locker room as Lyubushkin, plus I don't ever recall ever reading or hearing about him being adored by Granato.
