Easy no from Winnipeg. No quality or needs met equals no Ehlers.

Hawks decline. They have zero need for Maata.

You would be the dumb ass that would trade multiple futures for Nichushkin…

Thats probably close to what he'd go for. Its a risky pickup but Nichushkin at his best is a dominant player that could put some fringe teams into contending. My guess is he ends up on a team that missed the playoffs by a couple points this year (like Detroit). Good for both teams

Compared to an established top 6 winger, you are correct, it doesn't.

He's got 6 x $6.125M left and his career may be in jeopardy lol.

Comparably, Detroit waived Vrana last year for similar issues and nobody was willing to touch him. Had to dump him off to STL at half retention for a 7th round pick.

... And Vrana didn't even get suspended.

You might be able to pay Chicago to take Maatta but they aren't taking him for free.

Won’t be Detroit. It’s not worth the risk when there are other options out there. Unreal player though.

If COL could trade him right now (they can’t) they would take that deal.

I think that is a decidedly optimistic return. His value is basically negative until he starts playing again, and I don’t know how the Avs can bring him back into the locker room after leaving the team high and dry in 2 playoff runs. Literally the entire locker room leadership would have to sign off on it and I don’t know that that happens. But they are seriously boxed in right now because any team interested is going to have the upper hand in trade negotiations.

Point a game players aren’t cheap but availability is the most important ability. He needs to get his head straight. Perhaps a year in the khl and a return for the playoffs would help him reset.

Copp would fit well on the 3rd line - overpaid yes, but it's only 3 years compared to Norris for 6. I'd say he has flat value.
Holl is where it gets tough, he's really just a 7th D, but at least it's only for 2 years. It wouldn't cost a 1st to dump him somewhere else either.

So that breaks down to a 1st and ~3rd in value for Norris. Not that far off since the biggest value is getting out from his cap hit.

OTT is not trading Norrris on the cheap and they are not currently looking to get out of his contracts, he will play or be LTIR its simple
