Ok that's possible then. I don't think Vegas does the 2nd trade though, but only because the draft is in Vegas this year.

Johnson is recovering from major shoulder surgery. He won’t be traded this summer.

Also why would the Habs do this? Don’t you need to guarantee the best possible forward you can get?

i dont want this or i wont think they trade back, but im willing to bet whoever we would draft at 2 would be available at 5.

That would be the exact reason the Jackets would never make this move. The difference between 2 and about 8 is minimal. The Jackets won’t give up Johnson to move up for a player we could get at 5.
