If Demko was available I wish the Sens would put in an offer. Don’t think we could compete with that Buffalo offer tho frown

Carolina trade is awful for the Canucks. It’s essentially Jarvis, Morrow, and a late 2nd for Pettersson and Hronek when you take the KK dump into account

Canucks aren’t moving Demko. I doubt Buffalo gives up that much for a goalie either with how well UPL played this season and with Levi coming up

Arizona declines that pretty easily

KK is only a dump to Carolina, Canucks would find him a useful 3C that has a few more years then what the Canucks would want

I’d much rather have Suter at 1.6M or re-sign Blueger for ~2M be our 3C rather than take on KK’s awful contract for 6 years. He’s a cap dump

I don’t think Buffalo is in the market for another goaltender. Luukkonen was good this year and they don’t have to pay anything other than money to keep him. Levi may be ready to play 30 or so games as the back up, and Buffalo doesn’t need an expensive tender like Demko, Or to sell the farm to get one.

$5,000,000 cap hit for a top 3-5 goalie in the league is not expensive lol

KK isn't even a dump to Carolina... this trade gets shut down by Carolina almost immediately you mention Jarvis. If Necas is the center point... maybe. But this is a pretty quick no. You had your chance to try and move him to Carolina, now you're stuck with him

Remarkable how you manage to completely miss the point. The only reason Buffalo would consider trading for Demko is if they were trading Luukkonen, and I’m pretty sure they’re not.

Not missing any point, simply correcting your incorrect statement
If you want we can rehash this next year when the Sabres are picking 10th overall because their front office does not know how to construct a team, Canucks have already lapped their expansion cousins and Sabres are the ones with all the cap space and ELC’s

Sure thing Sparky, we will be “ stuck with him” outscoring all of the Canes next year and going farther then the Canes in the East because they don’t have anyone who can take over a series like Petey who already did become a point a game player in the bubble as a 22 year old lol

This deal is an absolute steal for Carolina lmao. Lemieux and Comtois are scraps with no value. KK costs a 1st to dump on the Canucks. Pettersson alone is worth more than Jarvis, Morrow, and a 2nd. Then there’s still Hronek who’s worth a 1st+ going to Carolina as well

We’re “stuck” with a borderline top 5C who would be the best player on Carolina, good to know. We will very gladly keep him and be “stuck” with him. Carolina though is stuck with their 4.8M bottom 6C

It doesn’t make a lot of sense for Buffalo to make a move for a second starting goaltender. Demko has four years left on his current contract, and I’m sure they plan on keeping Luukonen for at least the next couple. It would mean spending about 8 or $9 million a year for the tandem, but we would also have two starting goaltenders, and Levi would have to stay in Rochester at least another year. If he doesn’t get a sniff of NHL games next season, he may be less inclined to resign as an RFA the following season. actually, if you presented Kevyn Adams with this offer, he may be crazy enough to take it. But like I said, that would be a risk. It’s a hell of a bargaining chip in negotiations with Luukkonen, but you definitely risk alienating Devon Levi. Not to mention you’d be telling both guys you’re both playing 40 games. But it’s more of a fantasy team move than it is an actual NHL team move.

And I have always considered Vancouver to be our expansion brothers. And at this point comparing success stories is like saying “I lost in a bigger situation than you more often.” Neither franchise has bragging rights until one of them wins something.

KK isn't a dump. Jarvis might straight up be worth more going forward than EP40. EP40 had 89 points this year, that's great. Jarvis had almost 70, he's 21, and he's a natural center than is 3 years younger than EP40. He's going to play at C next year, and he could (could, not will) straight up outproduce EP40.

KK is a dump for the Canucks. 4.8M for a guy who has struggled to put up points and who’s defensive metrics got a lot worse this year is a cap dump. Would much rather re-sign Blueger and have 2.5M+ in extra cap than take on that contract. He’s a cap dump to the Canucks

Jarvis is nowhere close to as valuable as EP. He’s a great young player no doubt, but Pettersson still outproduced him while struggling for a month+ and playing through an injury. It’s more likely Pettersson is back to 100+ points than Jarvis outproducing him imo (I still think Jarvis will be hovering around a PPG player next year)

To compare what they’ve done through their first 3 seasons/age 22 seasons.

Jarvis through his age 22 season has 64 goals and 146 points in 231 games.

Pettersson through his age 22 season had 65 goals and 153 points in 165 games, while also being on a much worse team

KK had 40 points last year, stop. This is his first year in Carolina scoring at a sub 30 point pace. Stop it. He's not a dump. He's 23, scores at a better rate than Bleuger, and is better defensively! He's not a dump, stop it.

Oh, I love it when people have to resort to the team debate because it's all they have. Jarvis played with worse linemates! Jordan Staal and Jordan Martinook, or JT Miller? Jarvis is also a powerforward (trust me, I know it sounds weird for a dude that is 5'10, but watch him because he 100% fits that mould) and is DOMINANT defensively where EP40 is okay, not great, but not bad. Let's also not forget here, Jarvis destroys EP40 analytically.

I don’t know what you are drinking out in the Carolinas but Petey is the better player

Psst ……How many 5 point nights has he had ?
Psst ….. How many 100 point seasons has he had?
Both indications that a player can take over a game
EP40 has 5 5 point nights which is half of what McDavid has in a fraction of the games
Check for yourself and no Aho on the list for active players scoring 5 point nights 🤷‍♂️

Isn't that a good thing? Aho's WAY more consistent. Plus, he dominates defensively. And he does it in a defensively demanding system! With less talented linemates! Stop it, Aho's CLEARLY the better player between the two.

LoL
Players that play defense but don’t score are a dime a dozen and EP40 is one of the top 2 way centres in the league
yeah how many players that are best in the league that don’t have either a 5 point game or a 100 point season?
Sure thing King Homer keep on thinking Aho is better, I have some magic beans to sell you if you are that gullible

Teravainen and Svechnikov are less talented than Mikheyev, Kuzmenko, and Lafferty? You sure about that?

Pettersson and Aho have also had very similar xGA/60 over the last 3 seasons
23/24:
Aho: 2.46
EP40: 2.47
22/23:
Aho: 2.39
EP40: 2.45
21/22:
Aho: 2.7
EP40: 2.6

Aho also had a career year offensively and only matched Pettersson’s points when Pettersson struggled and played through an injury for a month+ so that’s not exactly the argument you think it is

But EP40 was outscored by Aho in fewer games and was better defensively. Aho scores more frequently, and is a better playoff performer. If you have anything tangible to show me Pettersson is better, feel free. But 5 point games and a fluky 100 point season ain't doing that. EP40's got 2 70+ point seasons, Aho had 5. Aho's perennially on Selke ballots. You got anything to say other than some BS about how EP40 gets to beat up on the San Jose Sharks more than Aho does, let me know
