I can't see the Sabres and Flames swapping Levi for Coronato. 15% retention doesn't make any sense either it's too little for the Sabres to pay very much for and the Flames won't want to tie up a retention slot for 2 years unless the Sabres are willing to pay quite a bit extra for it. No retention or 50% retention would both be far more likely.

Sabres don't need Markstrom... they just need a guy capable of "holding Levi's hand" as they integrate him to NHL minutes

Although the sabres could use a guy like Marky, it doesn't make sense to trade a first rounder when you are a fringe playoff team at best, on top of giving up their best goalie prospect aswell. Although Coronato is good, the sabres don't really need him bc of how much prospect winger depth they have

Agreed; better off signing a Cam Talbot type as a UFA. A veteran to play a few games and back- to- backs

Luukkonen looked great the 2nd half, I see no reason to replace him with anyone unless it is a stud starter like Saros.

No. Buffalo has UPL to start. If they want Levi to get more time in the AHL, they should sign a veteran who can play 30 games or so to a 1 year deal. My suggestion would be a guy like Casey DeSmith. or Laurent Brossoit. Or Anthony Stolarz.

Markstrom should go to a team who needs a starter. LA and NJ come immediately to mind. Also much of the point of moving out a goalie is to get Dustin Wolf more NHL time. They don't need a goalie back.

These teams are not ideal trading partners, at least as far as goalies are concerned.
